…you cannot run from fate… …the prophecy of the godchild has been fulfilled… at least in part…
Rising from her mortal coil and human life, Serena now sits upon the very throne of Zeus himself to rule and command the Olympian deities, whether they are willing or not.
The three sisters of Fate show little remorse for the new leader of the gods, and their twisted trials push Serena to her breaking point, all to prove she is worthy of such an honor.
But soon, Serena discovers not all those who stood by her did so with honest intent and the lines of friend and foe blur in a dangerous weave for power and corruption. Will she be able to hold onto her power and prove her rightful place among the gods? Or will it all prove too much for her and throw the world into madness and chaos?
I was excited for this book! I loved the twists in this story because I didn't see them coming! I was far too busy worrying about what was going to happen with Serena. I love her growth in this book; she really comes into her power and her limitations. She does a fantastic job of trying to always do the right thing and offer/spread serenity throughout the realms. Triton, as always, tries to do what's right and keep the peace, but even he has his limits. I enjoyed the beginning of the book with Serena's power play; it gave me Arya vibes at the beginning of season 6 of Game of Thrones. It was fantastic!! I liked the epilogue and I think the series will be continuing with a spinoff...something to look forward to!!
The book is told from multiple POVs, like the other ones are, with a majority being told from Triton's and Serena's viewpoints. There's violence, steam, swearing in this book, much like the previous stories.
This is the third story in the series and the previous two need to be read in order to understand this story. You'd be entirely lost without them.
Tbh, I was too impatient to wait for the audiobook to come out, so I read it instead. I'm sure when the audiobook comes out I'll listen to that, but in the meantime, I enjoyed the book!!
The finale of this series kept me on tenterhooks the whole time I was reading. I was never sure what would happen on the next page. Would Serena end up with Triton or Hades? There was so much left unresolved in the second book, but I had total faith that it would all work out in The New Order, and I was not disappointed in the least. There were twists and turns that I did not see coming throughout the whole series. I now understand why they were laid out as they were. Everyone got their just desserts. I have fallen in love with the characters and watched them fall in love. Bonds created by the Fates are not to be trifled with. Hawaii is the perfect setting for the Atlanteans and Olympians to live their lives.
Love the new twist and intros to the new characters. It’s really fun to have new character story lines with the Olympians entangled once again into new family dramas! Can’t wait to see all the new storylines introduced with Apollo, the banished ones (can’t spoil the story), and of course the new lines. Great read! Amazing new author bringing the Greek Gods back to life!
