oke niet van kaft tot kaft gelezen maar wel alle stukken over de madonna’s en nog wat andere dingen. dirk de vos is de man!!! mijn primaire bron zo fijn dat catalogus stuk

A useful book for researchers--the author clearly has a great deal of knowledge on the subject--but a slog to read.

Hefty volume on artist largely forgotten. I had a recent brief "kick" with paintings and artists from 400 to 500 years ago. This is the one that stuck. Not as extreme as some contemporaries. Easier for me to relate to from a modern perspective than more celebrated artists* of his time. Saint John at Patmos is my favorite. If I wasn't so cheap, I would have purchased a print of it a long time ago. *(I'll readily admit a bias,a general distaste for anything popular. I do worship The Beatles though. Guess I'm just unreliable).
