Good but kinda Basic. Does not really get into practical solutions. The Dog analogy and 2 brains thing is not exactly correct but ok it's a mental picture. This is a good first book on the topic, I prefer more nuanced books. His background is in lifting. this mindset is great for lifting and sprinting, where hitting 11 is the correct state of mind... in soccer, you need to be at 8-9, not 11 or you are will be sitting next to the coach or get a red card.. This is from an athlete's POV not really a sports psych pov.
He talks about a switch but for soccer, the switch is dimmer not on or off..

we must do this or that but how...

I like that they tried to adjust the book to women's soccer.
This is a good book to get you hyped to learn more...

This book taught me a lot. I play competitive soccer and my mom made me read this book. I totally thought it was going to be a horrible, boring book but it turns out it was actually really good it taught me so much.
