Found this hardback book while away ....someone left it so I read it ....1970 "Dynasty" story ...very long (too long) with heroine, trusted business ally, evil brother in law, illegitimate birth discovery, etc etc etc .....when conveniently at the end all turned out for the best for the heroine, all secrets in the open with acceptance and understanding and evil struck down by terrible health event. Predictable but easy soap read at the pool!

another gossipy story by birmingham. this is a novel. the plot is outrageous but so much fun! the gossipy gay guy, publishing tycoons, ladies who lunch, and the gossip columnist. everyone has secrets and some blackmail thrown in. i wish i had read it at the beach!

He really knows how to write a good story. All characters were flawed in some way, but you knew who to root for.
