Stay brave. Go forward and be unapologetically you. Don’t be shy like they want to make you out to be. Who cares what they think? Just be kind, polite, a friend, and put together. People look up to you - Pride and Prejudice Feb 6-9 2020

For a 2-hour adaptation of P&P, this isn't bad. There's a lot of exposition directly to the audience, which I supposed should not be unexpected.

I love Pride and Prejudice, and Mr. Jory's script stays fairly true to the original text, but he uses a lot of "theatrical" elements which don't work very well.
What's nice about this version: It is much less wordy than other stage versions of Jane Austen.
What's bad about this version: Jon Jory has no skills as a writer, particularly not as a playwright. The best parts of this play were the bits taken directly from the original text.
Also, there are parts of this play that simply don't work. For example, Mr. Gardiner and Mr. Bennet discuss what they are to do at the beginning of a scene, then Mr. Gardiner leaves, and a few lines later he sends a letter to Mr. Bennet from London-where he has apparently been since Tuesday....Must I say more? Come on, Jon. Just don't do it.
If performed by a good cast with an EXCELLENT director, you have nothing to worry about. It is easy, though, for this to be done badly.

Having never read Jane Austen's 'Pride and Prejudice' I had no issue with the portrayal of the characters. I think the key to a successful run of this particular adaptation lies in the staging. Scene changes are quick and require seamlessness on the part of a stage crew. The concept of a second floor symbolizing sky felt too abstract for a period piece with proper costumes and props below. Perhaps it was a device to help audiences identify characters by showing them in silhouette when they are being spoken about in the scene below. I'm not sure of it's purpose, but it felt out of place to me. Others argue that the show seemed rushed. To that, I argue that it's difficult to cut down a piece of literature to a stage production-- but maybe that means this story is too lengthy for the theatre?

Making Pride and Prejudice into a great 2 hour play may be impossible. This is a pretty good 2 hour play. The best parts are directly ripped from the original and Jory was able to keep in some of my favorite lines. That's probably all one can ask.

I love the book and movie. I even liked the zombie version, but this interpretation is awful. There is weird staging and too much audience interaction. It was hard to connect with characters or see the development of them.
