Ryker was the quintessential success story. Small town boy studied hard, moved to the big city, and became what every businessman dreams of and what most women lust after. However, it wasn’t until he returned to small town Georgia that Ryker met the woman who would capture his heart. Sitting in the old rickety church, he heard the voice of an angel. When he lifted his eyes, he saw his future bride. What he didn’t realize was that the woman with the angelic voice, Lyriq James, had once fallen and was still struggling to regain her footing. Despite the objections of his beloved mother and concerns of the local pastor, Ryker was convinced that Lyriq was divinely created for him.
It wasn’t long before Ryker realized that stealing Lyriq away to the big city may have been more than she was prepared for. Los Angeles had all the trappings that caused Lyriq to fall from grace five short years ago. It offered her the same seductive high that took the life of Ryker’s father, the same enticement that his mother had warned him about. But Lyriq was his now, to have and to hold until death do they part. He took his vows and his faith seriously, but would that be enough to pull her back from the cliff she was about to fall from? Were the friends and faith leaders that he turned to for help going to be the ones to push his wife into the clutches of a demon in order to save their own souls?

Title: He Won't Go Author: Stacey Covington-Lee Publisher: SCL Novel Publications Reviewed By: Arlena Dean Rating: Five Review: "He Won't Go" by Stacey Covington-Lee
My Assessment: 'He Won't Go' was quite a read that will keep you turning the pages till the end. Be ready for a read that will take you through it all: 'drug addiction, extreme domestic violence, abuse, secret, family dysfunction,' drama, and twists and turns all over the place that will leave one in awe. The story features Ryker and Lyriq, who loved each other, but were they really ready for marriage? Why do I say that? It seems like Lyriq still had some problems that she needed work on. What was great about the read was that Lyriq had a husband that wouldn't give up on her, genuinely trusting God to bring them through this situation. Pick up this good read to see how this story turns out and see how this story could fit into one's everyday life.
This book dealt with so much yet the story flowed effortlessly. It was enlightening and thought provoking as it portrayed the effects and temptations of drug addiction and domestic abuse. I found the pastor's take on using drug money to support the church profound. Forgiveness and God's Love subtlety coursed throughout the story making this feel real. Slightly suspenseful, this was a page-turner that had me fully engaged.
This is the first time reading a book by this Author. It was inspirational, dramatic and suspenseful story. It's a about a young man who left home after his father death and never return until his mom lie to him that she is not doing well, he return went to church with his mom met this young woman who he fell in love with at first sight. They got married and did the drama begins. If you want to get the full story please read you will not be disappointed.
This book shows what faith and God’s love looks like. Lyriq has a past as we all do but people try to hold us hostage to it any chance they get. Even when her past met her present, her husband never gave up on her. There’s so much love, goodness and grace penned throughout the pages. Read it and receive the message and lesson, you won’t regret it.
I really wanted to like this book, but it was slow moving and it wasn't holding my interest at all. I got to 26% in it when I just stopped and returned it. I've read books I have enjoyed from this author before, but this was not one of them.
