Award-winning author Cassandra Dean continues her Lost Lords series with the third witty, emotional and enjoyable instalment, Stealing Lord Stephen.
Lady Seraphina Waller-Mitchell is the queen of the ton. With a clever mind and a very sharp tongue, the great and the good of society certainly do not want to fall foul of her because if she gives you the cut direct, then you will become a complete pariah in society - something which naturally nobody wants. However, Sera is about to learn that she is not perfect when an attempt at a seduction of a handsome earl falls flat...
Lord Stephen Farlisle has no time for the mind-numbing minutiae of society. Stephen would much rather spend time helping the needy and the less fortunate than wasting time at balls and parties, but needs the benevolence of society's richest to fund his good deeds. When a society beauty attempts a flirtation, Stephen initially dismisses her, but fate has got other ideas in store for the two of them.
In order to win a wager, Stephen and Sera must pretend to be courting. Nobody is more shocked than Stephen when he realises that Sera is not the haughty society miss he had first imagined her to be. Can she get under Stephen's skin and obliterate the walls he had built around his heart? Or will Stephen end up losing out on a love of a lifetime?
Historical romance readers will find much to enjoy in Stealing Lord Stephen. Cassandra Dean writes Regency romances full of intensity, drama and heart and Stealing Lord Stephen is an engaging tale about passion, pride and desire readers will find simply irresistible.

Having read the other two books in the series, it really helped me make sense of the story of Steven and Sara as many of the timelines overlap. I have to say, I really did not like Sara for most of the novel. She seem to embody all the characteristics of a 19th century mean girl. Over time, I did enjoy getting to know more about her as well as Stevens’ situation. Revealing ones fears and vulnerabilities is just so hard! It was nice to see how the story resolved in the end. I was however a bit disappointed that there was no further mention of Sara‘s “other family” members. The epilogue 24 years in the future was a bit puzzling as well, perhaps history repeating itself?
