“ Hinduism In America” by Dr. Vidya Bhushan Gupta is an easy to read summary of the representative Hindu scriptures, sacraments, rituals, and ethical principles The book captures the essential teachings of Veds, Upanishads, Ramayan, Mahabharat and Bhagvadgita and also traces how Hinduism has developed and adapted itself to changing needs of the society without losing its spiritual moorings. The book is a testament to the scholarship of the author who is a professor of clinical pediatrics at New York Medical College and is actively connected with many Hindu and other religious organizations. The book is sure to provide information and stimulus for enquiring minds, including NRIs who may not have the opportunity to witness Hinduism practiced as a living force on a daily basis.
