I read this book out of curiosity because I am getting (very) old(er)! LOL and Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS) is common in old age. My father, who lived until age 90 and was always very healthy taught me to be well informed about most common illnesses, so I can react fast as soon as I feel symptoms of one of them. He really knew how to take care of himself!
The book is very well written and talks about “the problem” and what it causes it (normally too much stress), why every symptom occurs and how to overcome the problem. The book is easy to read and it is well organized. It has tests for the reader to do, to check if he/she really has the right symptoms. At the end has very nice recipes., based in fiber and protein. Of course, like most inflammations in the human body, the food plays a crucial role, to the cause of the illness and also to the cure.
If you suffer from IBS I highly recommend this book.
