Synopsis: Lonewolf John Slocum wanders into Cheyenne a grizzled veteran from the losing side of the Civil War, looking to do an old friend a favor. Instead, he winds up bedding every woman with an opening in her calendar, and singlehandedly taking on a citizen's vigilante committee.
'So this is what it's supposed to be like,' she said.

Slocum was quiet. He knew that she was a woman who had been denied, and he knew it was best t o let her express her feelings in her own words.

'Is it like this for other women, John?'

'Yes.'

'Oh,' Abigail replied. 'For years I have cursed God for making me a woman. Tonight I learned what joy being a woman can bring.'
Okay, I confess, I am a sucker for dreadful penny Westerns, of the kind that are currently available on the discount rack of my local grocery store for a dollar a pop, the penny not being as strong as it used to be. On the plus side, the dollars all go to a local charity, and the Jake Slocum series is light years better than a few of the other contenders from the same time period, which will be reviewed at a later date.

One of said penny Westerns prominently features the heroine taking a bath with the assistance of a mystery man. At least I'm assuming it does, because she's prominently featured taking said bath on the front cover of the book, so if she's not, I as a reader will feel sorely led astray.

But there is no bath in Cheyenne Bloodbath. There's a lot of blood, relatively speaking, because the vigilante committee's pretty brutal, but it's a quick and brainless read. If you like penny Westerns, worth a look.

Although seriously. Slocum nails everything but the horse. And they all comment on the size of his member. It's more than a little ridiculous.
