Small-town scandal had always followed Eveline Eaton. Why not finally have the man she’d always wanted? Wolfe Coldero lived in the shadows, on the edge of acceptance. But he believed Eveline’s claims of someone, something, following her. He silently guarded her from the memories of their tragic past and a new threat to their future. Yet there was still something wild within him that made Eveline wonder if Wolfe would ever be tamed.

This is a Romantic Suspense, and this is the first book in the Fuego, New Mexico series. I found the beginning of this book very confusing and hard to follow at times. The more I got into the story I was able to put together what was going on, but it was still confusing at times. I did love the romance part of this book, and I loved that there was a non-verbal character. I loved that you could feel the love between the two main characters. There were so many touching moments between the two main characters. The suspense parts was the parts I really did not love in this book. I received an ARC of this book. This review is my own honest opinion about the book like all my reviews are.
Ms Williams brings a touch of the supernatural (just what IS Eveline seeing out there?) to the first book in her Fuego, New Mexico series which looks like it's going to start out centering on the Eaton family before--hopefully--branching out to others? I wouldn't be sad if it did. But in the meantime we've got plenty of family and community drama to keep us busy with Eveline and her brothers Ellis and Everett.
I liked Eveline as a heroine very much, and having a hero who can't (doesn't?) speak gave this book an extra layer of interesting. () Ms Williams did a nice job of keeping the suspenseful tension going here, and the eventual reveal wasn't too OTT. The romance progressed nicely as well and felt realistic.
I'll be on the lookout for future books in this series! Can I vote for Ellis to be up next?

Such a great book, but I expect nothing less from Amber Leigh Williams. This is the second book I've read of hers featuring a mute cowboy or one who barely talks, and she always does such an amazing job of showing so much depth of emotion without relying on words. I loved the relationship between the Eaton siblings, and all the drama between the Eaton and Coldero families. This story has so much: childhood love finally realized, family feuds, and an almost supernatural threat thrown in to up the suspense. I'm hoping for many more visits to this small town. It's got plenty of juicy stories to tell just within these two families alone.
This is the first book I've read by Amber Leigh Williams and it's the start of a new series as well. And it has me not only a fan of this new series and eagerly awaiting the next book, but a new fan of Amber Leigh Williams as well! Harlequin books tend to be quick reads for me but they aren't always ones that I keep to myself instead of passing along to friends. This one is one I'm going to hang onto so I can read it over and over again.
The Eaton and Coldero families have so much drama and it's so juicy! This first book was a great world-building one and has opened the door to so many possibilities for what will happen as time goes on. The romance between Eveline and Wolfe was truly beautiful and I loved the way things evolved with their relationship. The suspense was on point and kept me interested. Everything came together expertly, leading to me strongly recommending this book for the perfect weekend or rainy day read!

I really enjoyed this book. It keeps you interested from start to finish. There is drama, romance, and something dangerous in the dark. Book one of the series.
The relationship between the Eaton siblings, all the drama between the Eaton and Coldero families make this an enjoyable book. It written with characters that are believable, with their family dramas, feuds and childhood sweethearts it is very relatable. So sit back and enjoy!
A dysfunctional family with some almost urban legend storyline. If this is the first in a series about the Eaton family then the stories will be interesting. They are a mega dysfunctional lot, and I didn’t like Eveline at the start. However, I loved Wolfe, and how he tried to overcome his limitations for Eveline. Although a good story I did find it didn’t flow for me as much as some others.
