Finding love is not for the faint of heart. Neither is this new adult dark fantasy romance.

Celebrating Yule is something Rayleen, hardly ever gets to do as a supernatural slayer. Ever since the gods from mythology came back and outed the magical community, many of the supernatural world do their bidding in plain sight. Which makes hunting them easier but also means Rayleen never gets a night off. Which is probably why Rayleen lets her guard down for a one night-stand she will never forget and sends her directly to the underworld. Yet, the underworld isn’t anything like the stories from Greek mythology. It’s closer to Dante’s Inferno version of hell based on Greek mythology. Which means there is only one way out through all nine circles. Escaping the ninth circle something only elite demons are capable of. Even fewer mortals in all of history have returned to the upperworld. The thing is Rayleen is still very much alive and will stop at nothing to return to her revenge filled life of hunting down supernaturals, even though nothing can ever bring her parents back to life. Shortly after making a deal with a demon, Rayleen quickly realizes two things. One, hell rules desperately need to change. Two, she doesn’t know how long she can resist the pull towards the sexy demon prince of hell, who is also her guide and only hope of making it out of hell alive.

THIS BOOK TAKES YOU ON AN INCREDIBLE FAST-PACED JOURNEY THROUGH THE NINE CIRCLES OF HELL.

In 2020 I found BookTok. It might sound a little cliché, but after joining the BookTok community, I felt like I belonged for the first time, well ever.

I soon realized that I wanted to re-dip my toes into self-publishing. Where I had failed before this time, I refuse to give up. We want both of our children to see their parents striving to reach the stars. For me, that path has always been through books.

In March 2021, my supportive husband bought me a laptop, which soon led to the creation of Inferno.

One of my favorite things when I’m telling these love stories is weaving plot and spice together, Alone they are great, but together, that’s where the magic happens. I hope that by reading my books, a little of that magic comes off the page, taking the reader on an incredible journey of those characters finding their soulmate. None of this could be possible without my soulmate & our two childern and one fur baby (who was the inspiration for Griffin.)

Thank you for taking a chance on this dark fantasy indie author.

Omg. Amazing book, the ending has me on the edge of my seat, like I could predict some of it but the rest had my jaw on the floor. I can't wait for the next one!!!!! I hope it's out soon. 🤞

I loved the fight scenes, they were so well written I could see the characters do it in my head perfectly. Along with the all the rings of Hell, they were all so different yet so well described I could picture each of them in my head.

The only reason I'm giving this 4 stars not 5 is because I think the begining moves too quickly. After only a few pages she is sent to Hell. The only interaction she has on Earth is a witch kicking her through a portal to Hell after she slept with her daughter. While in Hell she gets a bestfriend, a really hot guy and a loyal adorable pet. I just don't see why she would want to go back. She has no reason to. Especially with all the progress she is making in Hell.

I am so glad I picked this book to start my year off! I couldn't put it down from start to finish! It kept me interested with all the twists of the main character finding out who she is and the people she meets throughout the book. The characters are fantastically written and I cannot wait to see what happens in book 2!

Welcome to Hell's Circle...

You are thrown straight in at the beginning of this book when Rayleen is woken up after a one night stand by the girls mother, who is a witch and throws her into a portal to hell.
The book is a Dante's Inferno inspired retelling, so the only way for her to get home is by travelling through the 9 circles of hell.
She makes a deal with a demon named Mags and together they convince The Prince of Hell, Dante, to be their guide.
Rayleen is an awesome character that won't just stand by when she sees something that is wrong, however this leads her to be reckless and she ends up in danger more than a few times.
Mags was hilarious, I absolutely loved her! She's super sassy and the perfect friend to help Rayleen on her journey.
And Dante, super hot Prince of Hell that gives our main character amazing 🐈🦋🦋🦋? There's even a super cute talking Griffin that Rayleen rescues. What more could you want?

The three of them face danger throughout their journey, facing mythological creatures and gods, and just when I thought they were about to be free I was hit with that brutal cliffhanger.
I really enjoyed this book. It's fast paced and the banter and blossoming friendship between Rayleen and Mags is great. I can't wait to see what Rayleen does next.

another booktok find🔥

I follow Kelsey on booktok @authorkelseym.wells and i was able to be an arc reader for the second book in this series. I read this book to catch up on the series before I received the 2nd one. I really enjoyed this book. I liked the foundation she has set for her to build a series on. I felt she did a good job of explaining the world she was building without it feeling overwhelming. I never got bored she kept the action coming and she definitely didn’t hold out on the spice. If you enjoy strong FMC your really going to like Rayleen. She’s feisty, independent and a complete ass kicking badass. But what I think makes you really gravitate to her is that she was able to show her emotions & vulnerability throughout this journey. Boy what a journey she has a lot of ups and downs & things she has to face from her past. Be warned this does end on a cliffhanger. Which I’m a fan of a good “I didn’t see that coming “ moment!! Please check the trigger warnings and know what your getting yourself into. Your definitely getting some gritty action , some super spice moments and just somethings that may touch on some sensitive subjects. A definite recommend for me. Available on kindle unlimited . So go read and enjoy the ride💙

When supernatural slayer Rayleen spends the night with the wrong person, she finds herself cast into the depths of hell. In order to get out of Hell, Rayleen ends up making a deal with Mags, a demon, and accepting the help of Dante… who just so happens to be the Prince of Hell. While Rayleen, Mags, and Dante start going through the circles of hell, Rayleen struggles with her attraction to the demon prince.

I really liked this book! Wells’ debut novel certainly packs a punch… and that’s a good thing! I admire how Rayleen always stood up for herself and what she believed in. Dante was amazing, and Mags was absolutely hilarious! And that ending… I can’t wait to see what happens next!

Raylene is a demon slayer who accidentally gets herself sent to hell. In the process of figuring out how to escape through the 9 circles of hell, she teams up with a demon, Mags, and a prince of hell, Dante. Along the way they seem to find a bit of trouble, and Raylene learns more about herself than she ever knew.

This book was amazing! A delightful combination of Greek mythology and aspects of Dante’s inferno. Raylene is very strong willed and capable. An absolute badass female to read about. Truly appreciate her interaction with the character, Dante and the romance that forms!

Don’t miss out on this book! Can’t wait to read the next!

Welcome to Hell….

Rayleen is dropped straight into hell. In order to get back home she has to go through all 9 circles. Along the way she picks up a sassy demon friend, a demon lover, and an adorable sidekick.

The world this author has created is fantastic. A modernized retelling of Dante’s Inferno. With a little bit of mythology thrown in. We’re left reeling on a big cliffhanger and I’m interested to see where the next book takes us.

What can happen when you sleep with someone? Apparently you get a ticket to hell. I loved the journey Rayleen has trying to get through the 9 circles of hell to escape. During this you will meet Mags (who I love), Dante (sexy), and Griff( I want him). Even with the cliffhanger at the end I recommend this read. Can't wait for book 2 I need answers 😁

Humor, Steamy Scenes, & An Adorable Sidekick!!

When Rayleen finds herself in Hell, she wants to get out as soon as she can. She teams up with a sassy demon and the Prince of Hell to make their way through the 9 circles of Hell. With a challenge in every circle their journey isn't easy.

A retelling of Dante's Inferno mixed with a bit of mythology. This book was a solid read that
ends with a cliffhanger making you want to know what happens next.

I received this book as an ARC in return for an honest review.
**Contains minor spoilers**

For this being the author's debut novel, I thought it was pretty good. There was a lot to be desired in the way of editing, with regards to punctuation and typos. I understand that editing can get expensive, so I tried not to factor that into my rating, though I likely would have DNF'd this book because of it, had the plot not interested me so much.

The author put so much thought and detail into all of the creepy crawlies and torture that went into each circle of Hell, which was phenomenal. I didn't have a hard time at all imagining anything because it was so descriptive. I also really loved that there was a picture guide to the circles of hell, with little hints as to what the reader might find in each circle. This also made a really clear cut from one place to the next.

There are notes at the end of her book as to why she made the decisions she did, so I totally respect them, but they just weren't my cup of tea. I wasn't a fan that this book went back and forth from the more orthodox type religions of Christianity, but then had minor elements of Greek mythology and even Japanese culture. I also wasn't a fan that it felt like the author was just throwing in everything she could think of (werewolves, witches, dragons, fallen angels, supernatural creatures, etc.). It all just felt like too much.

The beginning just went way too fast and I felt like I had whiplash and didn't even know anything about this book before things were happening. The explanations for certain things seemed unrealistic and I feel like the only reason Griffin existed in this book was for a dues ex machina to resolve getting out of some battle that could have easily just been done a more reasonable way.

Rayleen kind of annoyed me a little bit in the way that her sense of right and wrong led her headlong into dangerous situations with no regard for herself or those around her. But I LOVEDDDD Mags. And Dante was TO DIE FOR. Watching the relationship between Rayleen and Dante, as well as the friendship between Rayleen and Mags, grow was definitely spectacular. The spicy scenes in this book were perfection.

The book ends on a SERIOUS cliffhanger. I'm interested to see more from this author in her next book!

I recieved this book for free earlier this year and I am leaving an honest review voluntarily.
Please be advised this book may not be suitable for all readers. This book does come with a trigger warning for graphic content and mature scenes. I do like that author included a hotline number for part of the sensitive subjects covered in the book.

Intriguingly, the author included a vestibule of hell index at the beginning of the book. Rayleen has some awful luck and quite the adventure in the first part of this book. A witch cast her thru a portal to the middle of the desert somewhere. In this dessert, she seems to be drawing a swarm of bugs. Things get epic as she finds a magical town. She has a trusty dagger named Angel which she is very attached to.

Oh, the prince of hell, wow, and he is hot. This book gets steamy as she and the prince can’t fight their attraction. She deals with a demon to get out of hell, but this should be quite the adventure. Each circle of hell contains its own challenges for the trio and their pet bird. The author embraces all sorts of tales in this book as they navigate through suffering, from Greek mythology to hybrid-like animal characters, and I’m sure there I’ll be more.

I’ll give this author props. She is very descriptive, even in the horrendous parts of the story. Just Ewww, some of these levels are beyond gross. However, they finally give in to the attraction between them, and wow, that was hot.

Omg, this book ends on a massive cliffhanger, and I can’t believe that all they went thru Dante doubled crossed her after all.

I definitely thought this was a truly original story. It did pique my interest with the crazy amount of action and adventure in it. I love Rayleens characters and all the steamy scenes with Dante. I am slightly disappointed at the ending, but I like that author set it upfront for more books in the series. I do love the explanations and inspirations or characters at the end of the book. This was unique and definitely filled with lots of mythology.

This book had sooo many elements that it all became a jumbled mess. Rayleen is a demon slayer with a lot of TSTL moments for someone that claims to be as badadz as she does. She is using a weapon that she is unaware of all of it’s potential, she runs headlong whenever she hears someone scream at the risk of her life and her companions. We only get her POV which alternates from vixen, to pouty teenager, to a take no prisoners slayer.

Yes, women have gotten a bad wrap and have taken the blame for a lot of bad things that men have done to us. We are punished for their actions and Greek mythology is rife with it. After a while it got old with how the author kept making everything about how unfairly women were treated. It was like a crusade of “down with the men and we must make them pay for all wrong doing towards women”.

Mags, had her good moments, but not enough information was given on her. Griffin, I couldn’t quiet get a handle on just what size he was. At first it seemed like he was pretty big then he could fit in Rayleen’s bag?!? Comic relief is the only thing he seemed to provide as the story could have gone on with out him. I guess everyone needs an animal sidekick when they go off on an adventure.

Dante of course liked to push Rayleen’s buttons. One minute he’s the suave demon, the next a bit of a douche, then the next caring and compassionate.

The book started becoming repetitive after a bit. It was Rayleen chasing down a scream or something that sounded in distress, out came her trusty blade and it would morph into what she needed at the moment. Slashing, stabbing, running…rinse and repeat.

After slogging through all of that the book ends on a major cliff-hanger. No resolution of anything just pay more to see what happens next?!?

Exceptional story! The world building is fantastic with the merging of Greek mythos with Dantes inferno. The main character is feisty in a likeable way. The pacing is good, with being thrown into the action right away, which makes for an easy read. It has just enough spice to keep the story interesting without overwhelming the plot. Looking forward to the next book!
