A good book should weave a gripping storyline and hold your interest, but some things should be implied and let your imagination fill in. This is what is done in AniZombie. Even if you are not a big fan of zombie stories you can enjoy this book. If you are a fan of zombie stories, this is a must have for your collection. The only other thing about a book like this is the wait until the next book comes out seems so long.
A meteorite fell into the Tennessee River in Decatur, Alabama. Fish ate the parasite colonies. Patient zero, a local fisherman, died in the hospital emergency room. Inside his body, the parasitic microbes that had killed him began to starve. One by one, the parasites were able to reanimate Roy’s central nervous system. Two hours after his death, Roy awoke to a ravenous hunger.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book! Sides, inspired by his love of cats, wrote a great story that hooks you from the beginning and keeps you going until the end. The characters are genuine, adding more to the story than the sum of their parts.
This is a well written story and a real page turner. I look forward to reading more books by Ricky Sides.
Alcorn Corp. is working with an experimental cat food laced with hormones and appetite enhancers. The food causes cats to grow and exhibit extremely aggressive behavior. When the test animals are released, a few people try to prevent them from killing people in a small city. But when the formula is stolen and sold to enemy nations the genie is out of the bottle and nothing will ever be the same.

I loved this book!!! I was afraid of the first one, but the story just keeps getting better. Fast pace, couldn’t put it down and read it right away. I'm sure he can write a third one (hint hint) to continue the tale. The kittens were a nice touch. The photographs were excellent and added a great dimension. Highly recommend.
For generations, writers, intellectuals, politicians, and military officers had speculated that World War III would be fought with nuclear weapons. They were wrong.
Excerpt from a review of THE BIRTH OF THE PEACEKEEPERS.
There have been a lot of negative reviews written for this book but you will not get that on this review.
Although the first book starts out a bit slow and the author's writing style takes a bit to get used to, it starts to flow and at the end of this book, I bought the books 1 - 3. I do not often write reviews for free books unless the book prompted me to continue a series or read others of the same author.
It is the theme of the series that I enjoyed thoroughly. When you read, it should stimulate thoughts or pictures and challenge your mind (unless you are reading history or complex textbooks - ugh). This series is based on the after effects of a natural apocalypse. Since we have not been there, we do need to suspend our current paradigm and think what could happen.
The question here is not about the dialogue / the over description of the ships (as one reviewer put it) but what side would you be on.
Although some scenes are a bit harsh, it puts good and evil in stark contrast, making you ask yourself again "What side would I be on?"
I will be buying books 4 - 6 because I do want to see how it ends even though some may stretch and call it contrived.
Worth the $3.99 for the Books 1 - 3 if you want to jump right in.
A series of natural disasters of biblical proportions occurred on a global scale. Around the world tens of millions died as a result. When the survivors looked around they saw a world drastically changed. Most men and women struggled to cope with the devastation. Many turned to marauding as a means of survival. A few of the survivors banded together to protect the weak. They became Peacekeepers.
