What Will Happen in Egypt, Texas?

Rate this book
They’re Here. They aren’t our friends. In Book 2 July Jackson is no longer sheriff of Egypt, Texas. He’s on the run, hunted by aliens and their human collaborators. Though fighting against the almost god-like power of the aliens seems a lost cause, July needs to find a way to do just that before it’s too late. A resistance to alien rule arises and July, who becomes known as the sheriff who managed defeat the aliens in his hometown, is drafted as their leader. Will humanity prevail against these truly illegal aliens from halfway across the galaxy? Scifi fantasy fiction. Read immediately to learn the answer.

I write supernatural horror suspense comedy (a mix of dark humor, quirky, silly humor and satire.), .

I love many kinds of stories. I especially love off-beat, quirky stories with unusual characters and settings that have a sense of wonder and humor.…Falling in love with stories saved me from a life of crime (I’m only sort of kidding; they did save me from something). A lot of my main characters are adopted. Like them, I was adopted. I seem to write often about identity. I live in Austin, Texas. I have no horses or cowboy hats. I do have a 125 pound sheep dog. I’ve taught college, been a bartender and waiter and am now a full-time writer.

I've had five novels traditionally published and something like fifteen independently published. My independently published series, Strangely Scary Funny, is, by far, my most popular.

I like writing most anything. My grocery lists are excellent.

Yansky's second novel is much darker than the first. We now understand the world is at war. The issue is that while we are at war, the enemy is much older and stronger. Their millennia-long war is between humans from the other side of the galaxy and sentient machines. Humans on Earth (the watery planet colonized long ago) are breeding stock. The tone and plot are much closer to the reality of Germany and the Axis powers in WWII. Traitorous cooperation with the aliens by Earth citizens forces July Jackson to flee Egypt TX. The theme of illusion versus reality matches the issues that were current when the book was written. What is fake news? Who do you believe? Now that it is known the lead character is a hybrid, can he be trusted?

As before, the plot, setting, and character development are all excellent. The issue is the sloppy editing. I have reviewed literature both professionally and now as a hobbyist since 1978. I do not remember ever reviewing a work that reads like a rough draft. If the reader is willing to tolerate typos on every page and non sequiturs, give this a try. I hope book three will improve.

Crazy story!

This is the second book in the alien invasion of earth. The characters are crazy. Following the future, past, and current time levels was interesting. The only thing that bothered me was the lack of proofing. Periods were missing all over the place and there were other grammatical errors. Trying to decide if that was intentional. I did enjoy it and am looking forward to book 3!

ALIENS HYBRIDS, andEGYPT TEXAS, by Brian Yansky is the second volume of Egypt Texas. this is continuing telling the story of Sheriff July in the fight to replace aliens in our country. I read WHAT IS HAPPENING in EGYPT TEXAS, and WHAT WILL HAPPEN in EGYPT TEXAS. I COOULDN'T CONTINUE THE STORIES WITHOUT FINDING THE END.

Aliens arrive!

Yanskey has written a story of aliens invading & conquering our world...except for the humans who will not cooperate. As usual there are dad jokes and unexpected heroes, but also metaphors for the chaos we live in today. The cruel, selfish & greedy cooperate willingly, but pockets of people with good sense & honor work toward saving our world.

The saga continues

Still enjoying the trilogy but it is marred by some serious spelling and grammar errors, does no one ever proof read anymore?

"Marital arts"?

Whilst not spoiling it too much for me it IS irritating, and shouldn't be happening.

I've never been to Texas

Never been across the Mississippi River, but if someone was offering trips to Egypt, Texas I get a ticket. Gamely has a very interesting imagination. I hope to read more from this author.

Having escaped Egypt, July Jackson and Becca are on the run and awaiting the birth of their daughter. When the aliens return in force, they are forced back into the fight, this time for the world. Good book that moves at a nice pace, as July finds new talents and allies to help him.

Good follow up story.

Enjoyed this story. Very unique way to mix all these genres; fantasy, sci-fi and a bit of western. I think I might have mentioned it with book 1, but every so often I would lose the thread as who was doing what because hard to track. But an imaginative story.

Great story

This is a great story. I enjoyed reading. I did notice a few places on both book 1 and 2 that could use some more editing. Just things like wrong names, nothing major.

Great entertainment

Yansky's books have so much imagination. Just wish he'd get a better editor to catch grammar errors. Fun and nice way to pass a lazy day.

Gets better, and everything is going to be all right.

Finished book 2, not exactly a cliff-hanger, but you know they’re not finished. Onto book 3, let’s cheer for the home team.

The scenery comes alive..Characters are believable. Dialog was smooth flowing. Ready for next book and after that, more books about the librarian.
