Is there hope for love's sweetness to prevail? Or will this competition make them bitter enemies forever?
Dean and Josie are the rival owners of the best bakeries in town. Josie is famous for baking the tallest cakes, making all her sweet creations a little bit like her: steady and reliable. Dean is famous for crazy taste combos, explosions of colors inside his cakes, kind of like his personality: a little bit extravagant, a lot flashy.
When the cameras and crews of the most intense baking competition - Wedding Baker come to town, Dean and Josie engage in the ultimate battle for supremacy. The competition forces them into close proximity, and all contestants engage in pettiness and naughty comments while they bake.
Will Josie win the hearts of the audience with her insanely tall and sturdy confections, or will Dean delight the jury more, making him the last man standing in this sweet, sweet war?

Dean is book 2 of the Last Man Standing series written by Annee Jones, a new author for me. Now I 'll have to read book one. This story is so fun and fresh plus the chemistry between Dean & Josie is HOT. Get ready for laughs, fun, and some serious swoon with this story. Trust me, you'll love every second of this fast pace story!
Dean and Josie have always been rivals. It takes competing in the same baking competition for them to finally open up to one another. This is a very sweet stiry.
This is a short, sweet romance story. Dean and Josie were at school together, but didn't seem to get on. Now they are adults and both invited onto a baking show as rivals. This was a sweet romance, not what I would describe as an enemies to lovers, but they didn't seem to like each other too much at the beginning. Both characters were likeable, coming from different backgrounds and reasons for their love of baking. I loved all the different characters who were also on the show, and of course, we get the stereotypical TV presenter. The book has a good pace, until the end, where it just seemed to rush through everything really quickly and then it just finished. I think it would have been better to have a one or two more chapters than it did. A good sweet read for an afternoon.
This was a sweet enemies to lovers romance which i adored. Dean and Josie have been enemies of sorts for years but deep down they had eyes for each other but neither one of them let thier true feelings be known. When it came to them both competing to win a baking competition things come to a head and a HEA is imminent. This was a lovely sweet small town romance with a few laughs along the way.
"Supert short story easy read and follow. The characters are funny and a little exasperating sometimes but guess you can expect that from an enemies to lovers that happened to loved each other since the beginning *you'll get it* the ending was adorable and sweet. Great story!"
Overall a pretty good story just wished there had been ,ore to it. The concept is good and overall interesting to read. If you like a baking show with two cooks who really see each other then this is a good fit for you.
