TUMMY TIME! is a fun board book that is intended to be used for tummy time. The book folds out with designs on both sides. One side features pictures of babies with brief text related to the photos, and the other features black-and-white patterns with strategically colored objects. The side with the babies also features a small mirror for babies to view themselves.
What I loved: The high-contrast illustrations and photographs of babies will appeal to little ones who are beginning to explore the world around them. The fold-out nature of the book allows it to stand up on its own for use during tummy time, so babies can look at it while they work on their muscles. The words are brief if caregivers choose to read it, and the font is large and clear.
What left me wanting more: The mirror is a little small and distorts images a bit. While babies may not mind, it would be nice if they were clear in it!
Final verdict: TUMMY TIME! is an engaging fold-out book designed to entertain babies during tummy time. Recommend for older infants who will appreciate the photographs of babies and mirror.

This is an EXCELLENT resource for those with 0-6 month kiddos. A combination of high contrast (black and white with a smattering of primary colors) images, photos of real babies, and a mirror, this hits all the boxes of what to look for during tummy time!

This fold-out board book is for the very youngest of readers.
It opens out so that on one side of the page are 4 full-color diverse baby faces (Black, Asian, brown, and white). In the middle page is a child-safe mirror so the baby can see their face among the other while lying on their belly and looking at the book. On the other side are 5 large pictures of shapes, presented against strong high contrast/black and or white backgrounds. They include a baby holding a target with circles, a snail with a spiral, a boat made up of triangles on a zig-zag sea, circles nested in star shapes, 6 six small circles "plugged into" a larger circle, and a teddy-bear holding a 6-pointed star.
A brief paragraph explains to adults how this is helpful for eye development in young babies as they lay on their bellies working on neck strength. This can be used with older babies to talk about shapes and counting shapes.
Excellent for birth-6 months.
