When Danielle Stone learns of her brother’s crippling debt to crime boss Salvatore Carlino, her first instinct is to help. Carlino makes her a one-time offer to wipe the debt clean and let her brother walk away with his life; her.
So she reluctantly agrees to be his plaything. At his beck and call, day or night.
As Danielle falls deeper into a world of violence and excess, the man she hates unleashes a craving she's never experienced before. And slowly, the closer they get, the line between Carlino’s most depraved desires and her own begin to blur.
While her brother hatches a plan to free her, an enemy watches from the shadows, biding their time. Waiting for not only an opportunity to strike, but for Carlino to show a chink in his armour, and the fate of New Haven hangs in the balance as Danielle just might be that chink.
Desperate to keep control of his empire and his senses, the previously untouchable Carlino is destined to lose. The only question is, will it be his heart, or his life?

I love writing adult paranormal fiction. Vampires, werewolves, ghosts... oh my. I've been writing since I was 11 but I've always been a dreamer... often getting caught staring off into space as I created stories in my mind.
One of my stories, Night Walker (Undeadly Secrets Series Book 1), won the 2017 Golden Stake Award at the International Vampire Film and Arts Festival held in Transylvania annually. I'm still quite chuffed about walking away with it after facing some great contenders.
Currently there are 6 books in the Undeadly Secrets Series, 3 books in the Undisputed (MMA Romance) series and 2 Independents short stories plus a brand new series beginning with Owned By The Mafia, released in 2023
I'm so proud of the fact both Undisputed and Unbroken both won the same award a year apart from each other. *TOP 50 INDIE BOOKS OF THE YEAR*
My favourite activities include spending time with family, watching my beloved St George Illawarra Dragons, popping into the movies for the latest blockbusters, going to the gym for my dream body. Or just a body. Anything, really.
Speerzie... book daddy. Baby daddy x 2. Simply irresistible
This was really well written. I was super curious to read a book written by a male in the Dark Romance genre, and it did not disappoint. Do yourself a favour and take a chance on seeing how a Male writes smut because it was definitely worth it. You'll go through a range of emotions with this book and love/hate the characters as their relationships build.
Having read and thoroughly enjoyed a few of Aaron L Speer’s other books, I couldn’t wait to read Owned by the Mafia and it did not disappoint! Danielle Stone could never have imagined the painful pleasure of trading herself to Salvatore Carlino to save her screw-up of a brother’s life, yet she finds herself torn between hating him, fearing him, and craving him. All of which were completely justified. I had a mixture of feelings from love to lust to hate for Sal at various points in the story. As a mafia Don, he has all the cold, calculating ways you’d expect and could be hurtful when Danielle pushed him to far, yet he also showed kindness to those under his protection and was a passionate, kinky lover who took control as he gave more pleasure than he took. This story has so many hot, spicy scenes with blindfold, bondage, and edging, just to name a few but there’s a great mafia plot too. As Sal’s and Danielle’s connection grows, there are enemies plotting against Sal’s empire, an abduction, betrayal, an unsolved murder of one of his men, some drama from other women in Sal’s life, and Danielle’s bumbling brother Ben. The loose ends all come together in an action packed rescue with a happy ending for Danielle and Salvatore, but leaves a few unanswered questions and enemies at large, which hopefully means there are more books to come!
Woah!!!! This book had me gripped in its murky, erotic, pages pretty much from the get go!
When Danielle Stone is made to pay of her Brothers debt to Mafia Crime Lord Salvatore Carlino the pages start to steam up with the risque, sexy scenes that have you wiggling about in your seat as Salvatore gives Danielle what he thinks she needs and he definitely wants. IT'S HOTTTTTTT!!!!!!!......
I loved Danielle, she was no wall flower, she gave as good as she got and Salvatore ticks all my boxes for strong, sexy, Alpha Male, with a caring heart towards those he loved. With a suspenseful storyline this Mafia read hooked me in, it had it all. I would totally recommend it.
Thank you, Aaron L Speer, for an amazing read. It's one of the first books in a little while, I just couldn't put down and wanted to finish it. I was reading my physical copy, and when I was out of the house, I had to read it on Kindle.
Had a good story, tonnes of spice, interesting and badass characters, good pacing, and just an all-around good read. Being a Mafia and romance it wasn't too dark but did still had aspects that reflected its theme.
Yes, I'm gonna continue reading the next books and recommend it to others.
This book had me turning the page from the "Author's Note" (which had me in tears from laughter) to the very end. I had instant chemistry with this story that just about matched the chemistry Danielle and Sal had from the moment they laid eyes on one another (which was HOT). Mr. Speer did not lie when he wrote that author's note in the beginning.
This story has it all! It checks all the boxes for a lover of Mafia, romance, suspense, mystery, and action. From the opening scene, you are pulled into the intrigue, wondering who is behind all this mess, rooting for the players and eager for the reveal. The characters are each unique with their own backstory and part to play in this plot, regardless of how long they last. There isn't a dull moment in this story. My only problem I had with it is that it had to end. I loved this one, and I know you will too. A MUST read if there ever was one. Another Speerzie hit!
When a mafia don knows what he wants and goes for it, you know you're in for a good ride...I mean read. Aaron has taken no liberties with this one as he takes the reader on a ride of their life.
Strong, resilient and monstrous are words used to describe Salvatore but no one truly knows the man behind the facade. That is until he takes payment by claiming Danielle Stone. She is fiery and loyal to her brother, taking the punishment to save his life...but in no way does she think her life is about to be uprooted and everything she thinks she knows turned on its head.
Mixed with this mafia and sexual arrangement is a strong storyline and humour littered throughout, with so many funny lines that you'll find yourself not only squirming with desire but laughing out loud.
Ben gets into trouble with the head of the biggest, baddest Mafia family, Danielle tries to help her brother get out of it only to make a bargain that throws her life into a unknown she couldn't even imagine.
Salvatore is the meanest head boss around and he goes to a dark place when someone angers him or someone touches what is his.
His past gives him a dark place to go with his mind, body and soul and no one is safe when he's there, he becomes a killing machine.
Danielle goes to meet Salvatore at the pool and he's relaxing in it naked then she sees certain parts and she is terrified it will rip her apart and break her into pieces.
I really enjoyed reading this book the storyline and the main characters there's other characters in the book that I really loved just as much.
Let start with the beginning of the book, I usually just skim over the authors note but this one made me laugh and get me more intrigued about the story, don’t skip this authors note! Now the story line itself, I loved it! Dani and Sal are the perfect opposites of one another, there is instant attraction (even if she fights it), the steamy parts are great. The story line is also all consuming with great secondary characters that I hope to see get their own story. Over all this is a must read for anyone how loves a good mafia story.
This story had more than I anticipated. When the authors intro starts off telling you it has some steamy parts he wasn’t kidding. Family takes care of family when it comes to this story. It’s how it works, but don’t cross the family ever. When a Sisters’s love to step up to help pay off her Brothers debt, turns into more than she bargained for. She was truly “Owned by the Mafia.” Great story!!
Sometimes what you see is just a little corner of the whole picture. Suspense, intrigue, spicy scenes and Mafia men make this book hard to put down. It's well written and the words flow so it's easy to read while you're trying to get to the next chapter. I would recommend this read to my friends.
One of the absolute best mafia romances I've read. Don't want to put any spoilers in here but I hope the second book is just as good as the first and has these characters in it again. I feel like their story and the plot can definitely keep going. Many unanswered questions.
I cried, gasped, laughed and loved this book. Couldn't put it down.
This was super dark, and fantastic!! The chemistry between Salvatore and Danielle is smoking hot. There is bondage, edging, control, betrayal, love, and more. Great side characters! I can't wait to read the next book!!
What a hot book. I can not put it down. I fell in love with this book. This one is my favorite from The Author Aaron L Speer. It's a must read. You have to read this book. You would not be disappointed
i cannot continue ugh after he fucked someone else right in front of the fmc i just couldn’t see him in the same light as i did before. i am disgusted. also SHE APOLOGIZED WTF. that enraged me further.
Owned by the Mafia is a wonderful walk on the dark side by author Aaron L Speer. This book combines contemporary enemies-to-lovers romance, dark mafia politics and secret societies to create an explosive story with equal parts story and steam.
Danielle’s brother has tried to embezzle from the wrong business, his boss is Salvatore Calino one of the most notorious Don’s in New Haven and he wants his million dollars returned. When Danielle confronts Salvatore he gives her the option of offering herself in trade and a deal is struck for her to work off the debt as his personal plaything. Written from multiple perspectives, this book is one of suspense and drama as the political world, both legitimate and the underbelly, is revealed. Add to that the mystery of the secret society working in the shadows and you have an explosion waiting to happen. As you would expect there is a steamy enemies-to-lovers romance between the mafia Don and his blackmailed captive but I loved that this progressed with the story rather than an insta-lust scenario.
I got about half way through this book & thought, this has to be written by a man……yep it certainly is!! 😂
It’s a decent read but it was lacking a lot, there was no spark, no connection between MC’s. I wasn’t keen on the way it was written, I think had it been written in his & her POV it would have made it better.
The storyline was decent but dragged in parts & I found myself skimming a few pages about 60% in.
Very spicy, although the lack of actual sex was a huge turn off for me…..& by lack of “normal” sex I mean this guy preferred the back door! Front door action happened twice.
Wow what a trip! This book has an interesting plot with great characters that I became fully invested in. I enjoyed both the emotional and the humorous moments that kept the story interesting and engaging, not to mention the hot and spicy interactions between Salvatore and Danielle. . A well written book that I thoroughly recommend and I look forward to more of this series.
I thoroughly enjoyed this story! Danielle and Sal both have power, to hurt each other, to save each other, to love each other! He opened her up to new possibilities and she opened him up to love! Great read!
The story was intriguing and enjoyable. The characters were interesting. It had action along with two people who would never have meant and fallen in love
Owned by the Mafia is Aaron L. Speer’s first take on a mafia romance, and readers, you are in for a wild, raw, and edgy ride! When the author warns you that this book is filthy, he means it . . . there is nothing safe for work about Owned by the Mafia!
Danielle Stone’s brother has truly messed up this time and is about to pay the ultimate price to the mafia boss he stole from. The only thing between Ben and a bullet is Danielle. To save him, she is willing to give up everything to Salvatore Carlino.
Salvatore Carlino is a hard man who knows his own wants and desires. He doesn’t like the word no and knows how to get exactly what he wants through any means necessary. And, what he wants is Danielle Stone from the first moment she bursts into his office demanding he give her brother more time to pay him back.
What starts as a game to Sal and a nightmare to Danielle soon becomes more. And the lines begin to blur. And feelings come into play. But, are they real? And, when his enemies realize there is a new chink in Carlino’s armor and war is on the horizon, just how much is Salvatore Carlino destined to lose?
Owned by the Mafia was everything the author promised it would be. Raw, gritty, emotional and as filthy a book as I have ever read (even though it was all consensual). I loved Danielle. She is such a spitfire and never backs down. I adored that she didn’t just give in to Sal and gave as good as she got, earning his respect and, in the end, his heart. Her character had great depth as she fought her own inner battles about what she wanted vs what others thought she should want, and it was fabulous.
Salvatore was also complex. A hard mafia boss who owns his world. Smooth, cunning and deadly. Yet, as you get to know him, you see some soft spots for those he cares about. It’s an inner battle he must fight as well. He knows he shouldn’t care or have connections, but what happens when he does?
While so much of this book is the sexual play and tension between Danielle and Sal, there is a pretty solid plot hidden in there about a threat to the mafia looking to take control of the city. Of who can and cannot be trusted which gains in momentum throughout the book and ends with a real bang.
If you enjoy a dark mafia romance and go in knowing that the spice level is about as explicit as you can get, I urge you to dive in! Suspenseful and intense and as filthy as can be, Owned by the Mafia showed a whole new side to this author, and I’m excited to see what he has planned next in the series! 4 stars!
That ‘Author Note’ at the beginning had me laughing so hard that I couldn’t wait to start this one.
This is not one for the faint of heart. You are in the mafia world now and there’s a lot of games and manipulation happening everywhere you look.
Salvatore “Sal’ Carlino is a mob boss in New Haven, and one of his employees has stolen a million dollars from him. He’s a ruthless man and nobody dares to mess with him.
Danielle Stone finds out her older brother, Ben, is in deep trouble with his boss at the casino he worked at. She didn’t believe that he was a mob boss at first and thought that her brother was just exaggerating.
When Danielle goes to take Ben to the police for help, they are stopped and taken to Sal’s office where an offer is made – in exchange for Ben’s freedom and his debt cleared, she’s to work it off by doing everything Sal asks. No questions, no fights, just do everything he asks. She can’t let her brother die so accepts the offer, despite her brother’s protests.
We read as Sal introduces Danielle to a dark side of pleasure, while at the same time he is trying to discover who is trying to bring him down.
I won’t go into too much detail as it would spoil the story, but if you like spicy stories intermingled with violence, manipulation, death, possessiveness, and a small side serve of sweetness, then this is one you’ll enjoy.
I did like this story and the way in which the author has written was good. There was something missing from it though, that I can’t quite put my finger on, but overall, I enjoyed it.
