Mercy Rising: The Return
The epic saga of Mercy Rising continues with The Return where the Great Event from Grant Us Mercy comes full circle, revealing what the government has been up to these last twenty years.
Mercy barely returns to Zion, heartbroken and lost without Orion, when a messenger comes from the land they once called The Forbidden with the news of the return. Torn between her responsibility between Zion and where her heart lies, she must navigate a world she has only heard about in stories from the World Before.
Orion has just won the freedom of his people, renaming the coalition that Meyers had raised him to take over, Liberty, a land of freedom. Already overwhelmed with running an entire population and doing so without Mercy by his side, Orion now has to contend with a new threat.
Governor Dutton, now calling himself the president, comes to make his claim on Liberty and all of what was once known as the United States of America. Of course, people distrust another ruler, especially one that comes as if the World Before still exists the way it once was.
Dutton calls for Blake to pay a long held debt, but Blake wants to keep Zion a secret, a safe haven secluded away from the coming political war.
The balance of safety and freedom comes to a head, with the people of Zion left to make a difficult choice: Hope to remain hidden and outside of the upcoming war or give up their solidarity to fight for the common cause of freedom.

Mercy Rising: The Return
WOW! OHMYGOODNESS! WHAT AN ABSOLUTELY AMAZING BOOK! I am SOOOOOOOO in love with this series, with these characters and with their character! Mercy is amazing and her journey is one I'm grateful to be included in. Thanks DC! ;-)
I would NOT recommend you read this book or this series as a standalone. Sure, you'll enjoy it but one of the best things about this series is the history of it. The growth from it. I would recommend reading
Grant Us Mercy, including Arland's Transformation
Then the Mercy Rising series, starting with Orion's Origins then the actual Book One: Mercy Rising, The Prophecy.
DC Little's writing is TOTALLY CLEAN, as in - it actually squeaks! ;-) There are bad guys. There are bad things implied, though with very VERY innocuous references which leave almost everything to the imagination. There are even bad things that happen to wonderful people. But it isn't graphic or triggery. There are NO assaults of an, um... intimate nature. The women are strong, and safe. (((Previous books did have some bad guys which targeted the ladies but it was very clean and gentle.)))

My thoughts about this book: the things the author does so well!
• The author created a post apocalyptic world with great descriptions, so great that I could envision myself among the people of Liberty.
• I felt immersed in the scenes of the book. I felt the tensions and emotions of characters.
• I was drawn into the story immediately. The action and adventure was addicting.
• The story was told from the alternating viewpoints of Mercy and Orion. I liked this style of writing for this story.
• Mercy's father, Blake, played an important pivotal role to this story. Also, the return of a 20 year hidden, self-proclaimed US President, Dutton.
• This was a clean read. No swearing and no sex. I appreciated that fact.
• I liked the ending of this story. The book felt complete and I am anxiously awaiting Mercy's and Orion's next adventure.

What a Wild Ride!!!!
This book has so much excitement and unexpected twists and turns!!!
So well written, amazing character development! The perfect continuation of this wonderful series! I highly recommend that you start with the Grant Us Mercy series that then flows seamlessly right into this series.

Very suspenseful! Loved it!
I wasn’t sure if I was going to like this next story in the series as the US government shows up. I dreaded any political story line, but the story was terrific! It continues Mercy and Orion’s love story and how they deal with not only the government, but another treat. DC Little did an amazing job with this whole series! It was hard to put down!

The beginning of war
War is coming and Mercy, Orion, and the family are involved with training the troops and getting them ready for the battle. This book has plenty of action, near death experiences, and romance. The whole series has been worth reading and this book is no different.

DC is an amazing writer and her books have given me an insatiable desire for more and more of her stories of Mercy and Orion and the people of their world .
Every book has been my favorite until the next comes out. Bravo Ms Little and thank you for these stories.

Edge of your seat situations and clean !
Don't miss this series! DC Little knocked it out of the park ! Characters are strong, funny at times too. The suspense is great and the war is coming .

This is another excellent part to this incredibly enjoyable dystopian series! Great storyline, brilliant ideas in the typical style of DC Little! A sure fun read! I do recommend!
