Melanites- The Origin, is a porqoui tale like no other. It answers the Why does skin come in different shades?
In this origin tale, Mother Sun creates a people of leaders to care for Earth. While designing the new leaders she realized that she needed to protect their bodies from her heat and rays, so she placed a pigment called melanin in their skin. Melanin made their skin different shades of black and brown, and it was the source of their magical powers. When Mother Sun was done, she called the new leaders Melanites and placed them on Earth.
The Melanites went on to love and care for the Earth just as Mother Sun wanted, but once the power in their melanin was activated, the place they once called home began to change and life as they knew it, was never the same.

NOT JUST FOR KIDS
I am a Grandfather raising my twin seven year olds. I came across this book on tittok and ordered it immediately. I just read it and as a man in his mid fifties this was education for me too! Can't wait to continuously read to my children as they are learning to read and this will be in our family library for years to come. Thank you for publishing.

A great read for children
This book explains why we have different shades of skin color and most children probably don't understand why. I will encourage my children to add this book to their reading log
