What a wonderful day to go to the farmers' market! Mina and Leah, 2 adorable sisters, enjoy all the sights, sounds, smells, touch, and tastes of what their local farmers' market has to offer. Explore all 5 senses with this adorable family while they check out the delicious sustainable organic produce, freshly baked goods, colorful flowers and so much more!
I think this book is a very fun read! So many things for kids to experience at the farmer’s market! Love that it walks through the exploration of all the children’s senses!
“Tara Sa Palengke!” is a great book for bilingually raised kids. I am not totally convinced whether it serves the suggested age range of 2 to 6, but maybe it works for kids whose both parents are native Tagalog speakers, but I am just not sure whether kids of that age could make the connections between English and Tagalog. Anyways, the book features great artwork and a simple but lovely story, appreciating the hard work of farmers. I wonder whether the Spanish/Mexican/Mayan word “Palenque” has anything to do with the Tagalog word “Palengke,” but it seems so to me, taking into account the Spanish colonization of the Philippines in the 16th century by Magellan. Interesting book with quite some depth. Great job!
Such a fun book in Cantonese! We learned different colors, foods, and plants in Cantonese in this book! I like that there is English on each page so we can always refer to the meanings! The illustrations are colorful to easily catch the kids’ attention! My 6-year-old loved it and would like to read the next book!
Mina and her family go to the farm. She also learns Chinese. An easy way to learn Chinese with Cantonese and English. This is a cute and fun book. I like the illustrations too.
Great foe kids learning about the Farmers Market. The illustrations are beautiful, and the excitement of the little girls can be felt from the words and illustrations. Definitely recommend.
This book is special, the excitement of the children about a farmers market is catchy. And besides this, bilingual children can also re-enforce their other language. The illustrations in the book are beautiful.
Mina and Leah will make you fall in love with them with their cuteness! The illustrations are beyond beautiful. They both explore the Farmers’ market with their mom and learn about organic fresh produce, freshly baked goods and colorful flowers with so much excitement. This book is bilingual which is great for language learners. I loved it and highly recommend it.
I really enjoyed reading this story. It is well-written, beautifully illustrated and teaches children all about farmers’ market. I don’t think I’ve seen one before about this subject. I like the little learnings about fruits and veggies and colors. The characters are really adorable and it’s nice to see Asian main characters.
