I’m married, with two twenty-something daughters, two dogs, two cats—in fact, two of everything but wives, and only because she won't let me... I'm a scratch golfer (in my dreams) and a former Mensa member (not because I got stupid, but because I stopped paying my dues).
I've written five published novels and three nonfiction books about computer technology, as well as a nonfiction self-help book for writers called "Frequently Misused/Misspelled Words and Phrases (and how to use them correctly)." I also have two other novels in the works.
This collection of stories by 19 authors illustrates the creative power from a theme: looking out a window at a courtyard populated by people who are the clay for a story. Across the genre spectrum, these talented authors create stories that touch the heartstrings and reach the soul, stories of love, hate, joy, and sorrow; stories of courage and faith, loss and despair. It's a roller coaster ride through the gamet of human emotion whether in fantasy, science fiction, drama, romance, or even horror. The author's talent tells 19 different tales from one look into the courtyard. Let your mind be challenged, too.
The World Outside the Window opens with science fiction and closes with drama, each compelling in its own way. The stories in between are equally compelling and unique. D. K. Christi's story, Rose's Question, third in the anthology, is a quick take on unrequited love and a child's question that must be answered.
The theme was created by E.Don Harpe who solicited the stories from talented authors with published works on Amazon.com and built them into a manuscript. The desire to build an anthology was first voiced by Lana Ho-Shing. R. J. Buckley Publishing brought the work to print with the window on the cover, and drama inside. Check out the list of authors, many of whom are already listed at Goodreads. Enjoy.
It's good to see collaboration pay off. The literary world needs more anthologies like this one. Too often different writer's personalities class in mixed anthologies, but this is not the case in this piece of work. Each story seems somehow linked to the other, yet each is unique in their presentation of the focal point -- a view from a window. Are not all of our lives merely a view from the window of our souls? Bravo! I look forward to reading the work of the individual authors as well as more anthologies by Anthony.
This is the result of nineteen Amazon Shorts authors having a vision and creating an incomparable anthology. It is a wonderful read and let's you see what different stories nineteen creative writers envision working with the same information.
A mix anthology of romance, horror, science fiction , fantasy and mystery stories, with even a literary one, too. Get to know some authors before you tackled their books.
A feast of short stories in every genre by 19 talented authors. Each looks out at the scene through the cover's window and writes their story. The book opens with science fiction and closes with drama, and every story has a different point of view. D. K. Christi's "Rose's Question" is the third story, a delightful tale of a young girl's questions that lead to more answers than she imagined as she helps a friend make bookmarks that tell a tale of unrequited love. A taste of an author's style may lead readers to their novels and other works, referenced for each author included in the anthology. Read and enjoy.
