[The Intertemporal Safeguarding of Freedom. Climate Protection – Health and Welfare Systems – Public Debt.]

In its climate protection decision, the Federal Constitutional Court focuses on the future. If a course is set today which will certainly lead to violations of fundamental rights tomorrow, these rights must already be respected now. The new protection of fundamental rights does not impose any direct limits on public debt. It does, however, require that health insurance, long-term care and pension insurance be fundamentally reformed.
