Archaeological research is not what Nicole has in mind for her honeymoon with Michael. But then again, she also doesn't realize what the dark jungle of Belize has in store for the newlyweds.
Suddenly embroiled in murder, corruption, and ghostly apparitions, Nicole finds herself no longer on a honeymoon but on a rescue mission. Will Nicole gather the courage to face both real and supernatural mysteries?

Thanks to Goodreads Giveaways for the pleasure to read this book. It starts out with a man and woman on their honeymoon where the woman is dreaming of walking on the beach and having cocktails at a pleasant outdoor restaurant. Her archeologist husband however had a very different honeymoon in mind so they find themselves going through a jungle in Belize to climb to an ancient Temple. Did I forget to mention that our bride is afraid of heights and the guide tells our newlyweds about a ghost at the Temple. If you see the ghost it means you are going to die. Therefore, neither the bride not the guide are willing to climb to the top to visit the temple. Michael goes alone and is thrilled with the photos he has gotten that will make his dissertation be the best. Next day Michael is arrested for murdering someone and, of course, doesn't really have anyone with him at that time to tell the police. What ensues is how the murder, the police, the bride and groom and others all fit together and solve the murder and more.
A honeymoon in hell. Nicole and Michael have come to HIS idea of a honeymoon. In Belize. To climb a step pyramid for his dissertation. And she is terrified of heights. And that's just the beginning. It gets tortuous and convoluted from then on. It seems irregularly paced and alternates between the ghost's memories and today's mess but does have a good mix of amazing plot twists and peculiar red herrings. The characters are clear and easy to relate to. I think it's a good start to an interesting series. I won the print copy in a LibraryThing Giveaway Offered by Veronica Tabares (Author) and Published by Sun Break Publishing.
Oh, I really hate giving bad reviews. But, to be honest, this book was absolutely ridiculous. Very disjointed, poor pacing, incorrect and extreme emotional changes and tangential. And, I know it's fiction, but so far fetched that it seemed almost comedic. I kept reading hoping it would get better, but sadly it did not.
I received this book as part of LibraryThing’s early reviewer program
That was a fun romp through the Belizean jungle. It was lighter than I normally read but I found it entertaining and pretty funny at times. The ghost was a neat touch.
