The fifth installation of The Jodorowsky Library : a collection of deluxe matching volumes showcasing the iconic works of the legendary Alejandro Jodorowsky.
Included in this volume are two of Jodorowsky's collaborations with the esteemed and incomparable Georges the Tibetan-set mystical adventure of treachery, martial arts, and spiritual redemption, THE WHITE LAMA; and THE MAGICAL TWINS, the epic quest of a young prince and princess to rescue their father and save the kingdom.
Better known for his surreal films El Topo and The Holy Mountain filmed in the early 1970s, Alejandro Jodorowsky is also an accomplished writer of graphic novels and a psychotherapist. He developed Psychomagic, a combination of psychotherapy and shamanic magic. His fans have included John Lennon and Marilyn Manson.
I was bought this book as a Christmas present. I was looking forward to reading a Jodorowsky and was excited by the prospect of The White Lama.
The library edition is a great presentation. The cover, binding, etc are great. But I found the story weak and didn't like / wasn't impressed by anything here.
There are plenty of 4 and 5 star reviews for this book. But this wasn't my cup of tea and I don't know if I will read any more Jodorowsky.
