That sums up me and Simon Adler in a chocolate-dipped pistachio shell.
Everyone has a dream.
Mine is to make the world’s best ice cream.
There’s only one thing standing in my way:
The hottest firefighter on Venice Beach
Scorching Hot is book two of Long. Hot. Summer. It’s a scorching hot beach read featuring an innocent heroine, frenemy action, a delicious fireman, and enough ice cream to get you through the heat wave. Like rivals to lovers? This one’s for you!
Regina Wade specializes in sizzling-hot happily-ever-afters. Her sweet and spicy quickies are packed with OTT alpha males and fun, feisty heroines. Regina is obsessed with dark chocolate, organic coffee, and her rescue hamster, Waffles
Two people an ice cream shop and magnetic attraction. This story didn’t have the explosion I was looking for. I found myself getting bored hearing about her business. As a 1 hour hot read it was Luke warm. I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.

This is Friday and Simon's story. Friday is an independent, fire-cracker, no non-sense kinda women who is trying to open her own ice cream shop in her small town but it's been shutdown by the fire inspector, Simon.
Things get sweet, saucy, spicy and sticky when Simon comes by to offer his hand in helping get the creamery up and going. Through many different up and downs, Friday and Simon are finally able to come together.
It's a sweet, steamy, quick read story from Ms. Wade!.

Friday wants to open an ice cream shop, but has a tiny problem with her permit. Captain Alder the hot but grumpy firefighter deemed the shop unfit for opening. Well these two fight like cats and dogs but the heat between them is scorching hot.🔥 Instalove, sweet, steamy, romantic, safe and fun to read with a sweet HEA and no drama 😍😍😍😍😍
Definitely not what I was expecting. The FMC was ditzy. She was hot and cold with him, definitely immature. He was likeable, seriously declaring your love to someone you don't know. If this is truly an age gap romance( never know his age), shouldn't he have been mature enough to know it was lust!?! This was supposed to be a hot novel, but it fell short. Sure there was so sexual flirtation and one steamy scene and that's it. They never went all the way.

I related a lot to Friday (FMC) with her stubbornness, solo care, not needing anyone, hating to ask for help, etc. I loved that part and the sexy firefighter who was as sweet as Friday's ice cream. Also there was just way too much word play on ice cream. A few are okay and funny especially sexually but after that it gets too cheesy.
Friendly and Simons story was short but great. He was just what she needed in her life. I love short stories that have all the action needed to be good.

Friday was this close to making her dreams a reality, opening an ice cream shop on Venice Beach had been her ultimate goal for as long as she could remember but when the hottest Fire Marshal she’s ever seen Simon Adler fails her wiring her dream is fast becoming a nightmare. The last person she ever thought would come to help her was the man currently the reason she was about to lose it all. But he is there to help and she can’t afford to look a gift horse in the mouth, the only problem is the more time she’s with him the more she wants him but she is convinced he’d never be interested in her, he could have any woman he wants. Trying to keep her heart from being broken she pushes him away, will she realise that what he’s been doing is out of love before it’s too late?
Simon Adler took one look at Friday and knew she was the only one for him, this feisty woman had no problem telling him exactly what she thinks, she’s nothing like the other women that have been in his life. He can see her dreams and wants nothing more than to make them real with her, however after he fails her shop for health and safety he knows getting her to look at him as anything other than an enemy is going to be tough. Will Friday let him in to her life or succeed in pushing his love away?
This was a fab read with everything from misunderstandings, love and hate to a realisation of what love really is. Friday gives as good as it gets and I totally loved the name of the ice cream shop. 4.2* read.
Regina Wade has been a must read author for me for some time now. She really knows how to grab onto her readers from the 1st page to the last. Simon and Friday's story is one of enemies to lovers who realize that sometimes you do need a little help. It's a great addition to this series.

Friday owns and runs her own business Game of Cones. Simon is the Fire Chief and when he does the inspection at Game of Cones it doesn't pass. When Friday sees the list of what she has to do in order to open up on time she is in a panic. However, she didn't expect Simon to show up to help her get things done. Sparks fly between them and its not long before things heat up. Can they find a way to be together?
This is a great story that will captivate you from beginning to end. This is a well written and very entertaining story. This is a book for any book lover.

This is the second book in the Long Hot Summer series each book reads as a standalone yet connect via the characters and can be read in under an hour or so but keep in mind once you start this book you will stop until the last page is turned so make sure you have nothing to do because trust me it won’t get done until you have turned the last page. We met Friday in the first book of the series she is best friends with Rain, she is sweet just opened her very own ice cream shop but has a fight on her hands with the fire Marshall who won’t allow her to continue doing business until her shop is safe. Simon sexy as all get out fire Marshall doing his job in ensuring the safety of the all the business on his list, but the cutie in the ice cream shop has him all tied up in knots, he will make sure her business is a success but a safe success and bantering with her is so entertaining keeping him on his toes. The attraction is instant, insanely intense, and the magnetic pull between them keeps him coming back to her shop to make sure it is safe but to really check on his girl and she claims to like him but can’t wait for him to come into her shop the more he comes in the stronger the pull between. They say first impression are everything will they give each other a fair chance, or will she hold it against him despite the chemistry, will she find what her best friend has found with Simon, will her shop open as planned, and can they find their own HEA?.

Wade really can pack a punch… I was eagerly awaiting this book and hoping Friday got a book and sure enough in typical Wade fashion she not only got a book she got one steamy book that melted the pages. This book was kinda special to me because I’m from Southern California and I’ve worked I’m EMS my whole life. Being that my specialty is advanced life support, pediatrics and critical care it was awesome to read about a Fire Marshal and it’s implied that he’s LA City Fire. So I got a kick out of this book. Venice is a special place although it’s filled with so many issues… those that know Los Angeles know what I mean. But this book was very sweet and I adored their story very much. It was filled with funny characters and such charm that only Wade could bring to life within the pages. This grumpy bear gave this book 5 fire engines 🚒🚒🚒🚒🚒 and 2 cones 🍦🍦for that added sweetness. I enjoyed this novella and I know you will as well.
I received this book as an ARC from booksprout.com for my unbiased and honest review
Scorching Hot is the second installment in the Long Hot Summer series written by Regina Wade. It is a standalone novella that is fast-paced and steamy.
Friday Crane is young and eccentric. She’s the oddball that names inanimate objects, pursues her dreams of opening an ice cream shop called Game of Cones, and prefers to be solo instead of with a man.
Simon Adler is a Captain Firefighter and does business inspections to make sure buildings are up-to-code and safe. He gives Friday a citation and a failure of inspection notice just days before her opening weekend. He’s smitten with her and jealous of her boyfriend ‘Ziggy’ (except Ziggy isn’t actually a person but a $ex toy).
There was quite a bit of comedic elements to this novella and it was definitely an insta-love rivals to lovers that was over-the-top. It was a quick fun read!
Tropes: Insta-love, enemies-to-lovers, age gap, happily-ever-after, OTT Heat: 3/5.

Friday has dreamt of having her own ice cream shop with all her own flavor creations but there's a problem. She needs a permit and the sexy fireman/inspector won't give her the permit until all repairs are finished. I loved how sparks were flying and Simon helped Friday get the repairs done. The writing is well done and this age gap romance is packed with crazy fun banter, well developed characters, steam, and a great ending. I voluntarily reviewed a copy of this book.
Another fantastic steamy romance in Regina Wade’s Long Hot Summer series of connected standalone books. This age gap romance is about Friday and Simon. Friday has a dream of owning an ice cream shop with flavors of her creation. Simon is the fire marshall standing in her way when he doesn’t approve her building permit. What she doesn’t realize is that he’s out to hurt her. In fact he would love nothing more than to be the one to help her.
There are tons of fantastic scenes in this book! Who knew taking off a shirt could sound so amazing! The way it’s written in this book definitely is! A walk at night that leads to a night of passion was both extremely fun and insanely hot at the same time! I adored the characters in this book as well. Simon is swoon worthy and sweet. Friday is independent and bubbly. Together they challenge each other but also complete each other. I highly recommend this book! It was one that I plan to read over and over again!

Ceiling Mushrooms. Amazing story. Simon wished the only reason he came into her shop was just to see her. But, unfortunately the shop had many fire code violations and he was just doing his job. Friday thinks he’s out to harass her and prevent her from opening up. To prove that isn’t the case Simon offers to do the work needed to help her open on time. Through their constant bickering is an undercurrent of desire that moves front and center. When he makes suggestions on how to make the shop better Friday thinks he wants to take over and kicks Simon out. How can he show her that he only wants her to be successful? Can Friday let Simon in or will she freeze him out? Stop by for a scoop and watch the action.

Captain Simon Adler is in charge of building inspections and ice cream shop owner Friday needs his approval to open on time. He comes by to help fix the issues and get her place up and running, but doing it all alone for so long leaves her hurt, like someone is trying to take over, instead of just helping. Loved the characters, their intense feelings and great chemistry. She even has all the appliances named and the wild bright colors of her shop are so visually terrific. Plenty of miscommunication, steam, surprises and an adorable shop lady who has great advice. Totally enjoyed this quick read and hope to read more about the people and shops in the area.

In this book we meet Friday Crane & Simon Adler. When this book opens Friday has a dream of owning her own ice cream store on the boardwalk. The only problem with this is passing inspection from Chief Inspector Adler. When she is supposed to be open on her first day Simon shows up. She can't think what she might have violated now but this time he has come to help. Simone can't seem to get Friday out of his mind. So he decides to come help her just to spend more time with her. Can these two find a HEA or will the prospect of broken dreams drive a permanent wedge between them?
Another amazing hit by this author. I would highly recommend it to anyone and everyone.
Friday has a dream of running the best ice cream shop on the boardwalk. She has lots of recipes for fantastic ice cream and a new shop with awesome murals. What she doesn't have is a permit because Simon the fireman inspector won't pass her shop without several repairs, Her grand opening date is coming up and she doesn't have the money to fix what Simon said needs to be fixed. She is cursing Simon but he actually comes in on his day off to offer her some free labor fixing things up. Maybe he isn't so bad after all.

This is the 2nd book in the Long Hot Summer series featuring Simon and Friday's sweet age-gap romance. Friday has dreamed of opening an ice-cream shop where she sells flavors she creates. Simon is a very dedicated firefighter who won't issue her the building permit that she needs to open her shop. This is a fast-paced fun read as the sparks fly when they meet. You really need to read this book to see what happens. I would recommend reading this book. I'm looking forward to the next book in this series.

Fire marshal Captain Simon Adler is on the case of the singed wired freezer. Friday will protect it no matter what. This funny any intense appliance name calling story is great. Friday and Simon are moving but there might be a detour from their HEA.would that be two or one scoops?.

With a heat advisory outside, I settled in for this steamy read, only I’m still waiting on the steamy part. Every time the story would’ve gotten steamy, the chapter ended.
I enjoyed the story and the characters, even though they aren’t overly developed in a short read such as this. It is an easy read with a cute story about ice cream. Who doesn’t love that?.

Such a cute story. Lots of good chemistry. I loved the story line and the characters. Adler is a concerned fireman who won’t led Friday open her ice cream shop until it passes code. Even though he’s wickedly attractive, Friday is beyond annoyed with him but Adler has his reason. Cute story, quick fun read. Definitely recommend.

This novella is well-written and fun to read, the storyline is a sweet and steamy enemies to lovers romance. Friday is opening an ice cream shop and Simon, being fire chief has closed the store as the wiring is unsafe. They have some sizzling chemistry between them and I really liked both characters especially Friday's cute whimsy ways.
