This book is an exploration of the mysterious arts of Spiritualism, Hypnotism, and Conjure. Spiritualism is the art of summoning the dead. Hypnotism is the production of a hypnotic state in another person or alone. Conjure is commonly called stage magic and is caused by illusion and tricks. The development of each of these arts is examined and how they relate to each other. The Witch of Endor, Eusapia Paladino, Daniel Dunglas Home, and other mediums both real and fake are discussed along with magicians such as Harry Houdini, Robert Houdin, and master hypnotist Milton Erickson. The phenomenon of hypnotic trance producing hallucination is compared to ancient Necromancy and the occult art of summoning demons. The special focus of this book is to examine all of these things from a skeptical yet open mind so that paranormal experiments can be undertaken by the reader to test for themselves the truth of trance and the spiritual world.
