My name is Michele Pollock Dalton; and, I am an unapologetic romantic.
Although I have been writing since early childhood, I have only recently overcome my reticence about sharing the stories that I create.
Most days are spent wheeling around after a remarkable little boy that I love with all my heart. And, sometimes I put my domestic goddess skills to work, so we don't have to run around naked =)
White chocolate truffles and faith fuel my writing endeavors; and, my sincere hope is that the characters I invent resonate with folks who need a bit of inspiration to face their day
When Ernest switching trains for his arrival at Boot Camp he accidentally brushes a beautiful girl with his big bag Little does he know this is Ruby Rose and soon she will be his constant pen pal during his time at war. Rubi Rose is over the moon for private Ernest and wait anxiously for his letters to arrive, but when they stop she is beside herself and decides to visit the bottoms a town not far away from where she lives in Wisconsin. They have been riding each other for over a year and she is nervous about what she’s going to find out from his mother. Will Ruby find out the man she thought she was falling in love with his perished or dare she dream this woman she comes to meet eventually be her mother-in-law? This was a great book and even though it isn’t a normal setting for Michele Dalton’s books it’s the same sweet romance and fate filled stories we come to expect from her. I highly recommend this to any historical romance fan who loves sweet and clean faith filled romance.
I loved this story. What tender letters written back and forth, but my favorite parts where the encouragement from both mothers! The cover made me think this was a contemporary, but I'm glad it was a World War One story!
The letters that Ruby Rose and Ernest wrote back and forth were so touching. Those two young people were absolutely perfect for each other. The epilogue had me in tears.
I was unfamiliar with works by Michele Pollock Dalton, but I really enjoyed this book and will look for more by her. Such a sweet romance set at a time when the world was at war and yet the people so much more innocent. I loved this romance through letters, something we just don’t get now. I highly recommend this book
Easy book to listen to. The narrator, Rick Barr, does a great job. However, the pauses between chapters is very long. The book itself is good. I like the characters and how the book followed.
