To be fair, I've never cooked in an RV kitchen and I picked this up looking for campfire meal ideas. It's a visually appealing and well-done collection of recipes with something for all diets, tastes, and styles of RV cooking. The varied recipes utilize stove, oven, slow cooker, or campfire and cover breakfast, sides, mains, and appetizers and desserts. At the start, organizational assists of essential ingredients and cooking tools are listed to better help you equip your kitchen.
Even though the title references RV cooking, I did find a selection of campfire options, although the majority are for stove and oven. With that said, no matter which cooking style you use, I thought some (honestly, many) of the recipes are more cooking than I want to do on a camping trip. Many can certainly be prepped in advance, but with the limits and constraints of a small camp kitchen, I wonder how doable these meals are unless you are willing to go the grocery store every day and/or have many coolers and storage containers to keep things outside the RV kitchen. Family and friends who camp together may be able to split cooking duties and meals thus saving space in the cooler and kitchen.
Those who go camping frequently or for long stretches of time may appreciate the variety, but I enjoy the old easy and convenient standards alongside fun fireside treats like pudgy pies and s'mores. And the lazy part of me doesn't want to lug any more coolers and containers than I absolutely have to, but large and luxury RV owners will have the space to store, prepare, and enjoy these meal options.
