What sets this baby sign language book apart from the
Sing, play, and bond with your little one as they develop sign language skills that will last a lifetime.
Love this book but not all the activities are accessible if you don't have the books required. For example the Boynton books are used in activities but we don't have them so we don't do the activity unless we get it from the library. Sometimes the signs are on the back of the activity page which makes it awkward flipping back and forth reading the instructions and sign definitions. Spiral bound would be more practical so the book can stay open on its own while you use your hands to sign.
The signs are useful, sure, but I can look up ASL online with actual videos which is more helpful for learning it. Half of this book is common nursery rhymes or popular children’s songs that everyone knows anyway. Then another large chunk is just “play pretend” ideas like playing library, doctor, school, etc. There was really only 3-5 actual activity ideas that I wouldn’t have thought of on my own or that I haven’t already seen/heard of somewhere else.
Teaches toddlers how to communicate with signs when speech isn't fully developed. Great granddaughter picked up on the songs quickly. Great books for Parents and teachers
