Some people just knew how to go out in style. Note : This book was previously published as part of the megabook Rise of the Grandmaster . Tim had never been one of those guys. Tim was always a planner. The plan was to get into college, graduate, and find a well-paying job. That plan was coming together nicely until he saw a presentation to get paid to play The Etheric Coast. At his graduation ceremony. After watching the company's employee recruitment video, Big Richie’s words had a whole new meaning. He could spend his life going from a cubicle at work to a one-bedroom apartment and back again... Or he could take a leap of faith by entering a virtual world of unlimited possibilities. And get paid. Now he just has to figure out how to get the job of his dreams, help his parents financially, and catch the attention of the girl of his dreams. It was time for him to catch his wave. Tim sure hoped it didn't kill him first. Scroll up and click Read for Free or Buy Now to begin this LitRPG adventure!
I have no idea if non-gamers would enjoy this as much as I did, but all readers should work on getting past the beginning with some patience. It takes time to create a character and since the story happens almost entirely in-game, this is really your only chance to get the backstory. I felt Tim and his friends were completely believable as early twenty-somethings. Also the game mechanics were awesome and the improved NPCs too fun. If you pay attention, MA's author note about NPCs won't be a surprise. Eager to begin #2!
I k ow this is a rerelease but I enjoyed it as much this time as I did the first. Great books. Gonna start the next one right now.
As the title says this is a review for Kindle Unlimited and as such is a reflection of my enjoyment of the book and in no way reflects cost to value analysis.
The story is good although there's a lot of internal monologues. It's also too bad that no one bothered to edit the book. Sentences stop suddenly, unfinished and there's a lot of wrong word choice (to and too) that aren't fixed from the bad grammar. It might have rated 5 stars with the fixes
I really like stories written about games, or more specifically, events that take place in games. The story here appears pretty straightforward at first, but the hero keeps turning over rocks and finding himself with new quests. I look forward to the events that will unfold as the story progresses. Game on!
Well not really finished. I'm not a gamer so there were several aspects to this book that eluded me. How one can go into a VR world and live there?!? It's also a blatant copy of Ready Player One which I lod!!
