Complementary vol. 1 In the summer of 1814, Anne Elliot feels she had nothing else to lose, while Frederick Wentworth has achieved a lot of fortune and success but not happiness. What if: -Anne and Frederick are both trying to spare themselves the pain of a meeting and both avoid going to Uppercross. -However, fate plots for them to meet and prevent them from avoiding each other. -The company around them are not that of the distracted and selfish Musgroves but of their respective closest friends, who do not miss noting their strange behaviour and immediately begin to make assumptions about their bond. -Their friends are plotting to get them back together. May Frederick feel resentful any longer, and hide his feelings from himself and the others? "Complementary" is the 1st book (in 2 volumes) of a longer series inspired by classic Jane Austen's "Persuasion".
My first Persuasion variation and I loved it. Getting ready to get Vol 2 and continuing this love story. Persuasion is my second most loved JA novel andI believe the author has done a great job at presenting a very believable set of characters, the action and the dialogue. I found some typos or words missing but not something that takes away from the enjoyment. I read it on one go!
My favourite variation so far. Dialogues and scenes are well described and really, really engaging. The plot is appealing and plausible. Read the two volumes in a row and enjoyed them thoroughly.
A Persuasion variation where in 1814 Anne Elliott is instructed by her family to join them immediately in Bath as Kellych Hall has been let. There she meets an old friend Mrs Smith, and a new one, Miss Fanny Harville. Events lead them to Lyme for Miss Harville's marriage to Captain James Benwick. Who is joined by Captain Wentworth. An entertaining story
I read this straight through, whilst I should have been working. Same for volume 2. I really enjoyed this story, well written. The author depicts the feelings of Anne and Wentworth spot on and brings emotions to the forefront, which rarely happens, and makes you feel their pain, disappointment, and happiness. That's what a book means, experiencing what they feel.
I’m not sure if English is Ms Rouge’s first language but I doubt it. There was a complete misuse of the English language that makes this difficult to follow. There was also use of words that were almost correct completely changed the meaning of the sentence.
If you’re not in the mood to detangle most sentences then try and read something else.
