Escape In Tennessee

Rate this book
Two figures dressed in black are silhouetted against the night sky on the shores of the Tennessee River.

Plans for this night were made months ago, timing crucial. Kari and Ping share similar stories of capture and years of imprisonment before landing on the current barge. They keep their plans close to heart, not trusting anyone else. The first kick from the boat is the hardest, the most dangerous. No turning back now. With as little splash as possible, they move toward the shoreline.

Hiding in soybean fields, they fear it is only a matter of time before someone discovers them. A police cruiser stops the farmer as he works the field. Word is out they are accused of theft. Bites from a hill of fire ants throw Ping into shock. Medical personnel are called. Kari finds it hard to control tears as she feels their freedom slipping away but she will not abandon her friend.

They land in the arms of a conductor for the Southern Railway. A group known for protecting victims. Can they give Kari and Ping the freedom they seek, or will their plight be too hard for the group to handle?
