This is the sequel of Wartime brides by this author which I loved so I was expecting a lot from this book, it follows the characters and their relationships and follows on from the previous book in regards to the storylines. I found the second book quite heavy compared to the previous book and I didn’t feel as invested this time round so I wasn’t picking this book up as much as I expected to. I just felt like the book was quite long and didn’t feel fully invested until around the 300 page mark which was a bit of a shame. I still love the characters in this book and will carry on with the other books by this author but this one just wasn’t what I expected.
A timeless story of love and friendship after the terrible war that left a mark on each of them. And turned out a happy ending in the end. They learned in more ways than one that life has to go on. Righting old wrongs and looking forward to the future. I recommend this series it is a good one!
Absolutely fabulous story. The story of being broke husbands drinking a big part of their wages away leaving their wives short of money. Wives having to do what was needed such as pawning things for a few pennies for food or clothes. Hard times with hard choices.
I was disappointed with this book. It kind of dragged on & the storyline was not that great. It seemed as though the plot was a bit boring. I will of course read the following books in hopes that the pace & storyline picks up a bit.
Enjoyable story about the people who live in Coronation Road. Great, interesting characters, and a storyline which is full of twists and turns. I couldn't put it down, even when I wanted to go to sleep, right up until the last page.
I thoroughly enjoyed reading it. It is a story about three women and their family members. It is a plain, simple, funny and heart-warming read and is perfect for summers.
Another good book from Lizzie Lane. I enjoyed the first book very much and the second one did not disappoint. It followed the lives of three friends during and after the war.
