My review is on my website www.bookread2day.wordpress.com I love this cute little book. Mummy’s Big Tummy is a funny book, about a Fox when he finds out his mummy is having a baby. This story is important for young children to understand why a mother’s tummy gets big when expecting a baby. Fairfax the Fox couldn’t quite make it why his mummy’s tummy was big. He thought it can’t be a pie that his mummy fat, or the strawberry flan. When Fairfax learns he is going to be a brother to his baby sister he is the proudest brother!
Fairfax Fox has noticed that his mum's tummy is growing. During the book, he comes up with a wide variety of reasons why she is getting so big from things like eating too much or swallowing items. He soon learns that Mummy Fox has a baby in her tummy and this book how he is about to become a big brother who will love and protect his little sister. This picture book was very cute and simplified and perfect for children aged 3-6 years old. I also loved the use of the foxes as it gives a fun twist to the story. If you are pregnant and want to share a picture book to talk with your children about the upcoming baby in the family, check out Mummy's Big Tummy by Jane Callow as it will help you with all your discussion needs.
I chose to read this book after receiving a free e-copy from Kaleidoscope Tours. All opinions in this review are my own and completely unbiased.
This charming children’s book is about a young fox named Fairfax who notices that his mom’s tummy is growing. He’s afraid she’s eating too much but his dad explains that he’s going to be a brother, and that’s where his sister is growing. He is so excited about the news that he cries (happy cry)!
This book is fun to read and has bright and colorful illustrations and is told in rhymes. It’s good for any child to read but perfect for children who are going to be a big brother or a big sister
