Selena must face the task of being where she is, of finding her path in the country that is her new home. But now that Rue and Clover are safe, what exactly is her purpose? She is used to walking the worlds, but has never before stepped foot in this one. Also, she's preoccupied with a particular house just up the hill that calls to her on her walks and in her dreams.
She has no idea who lives there, or what it may mean.
Rue is navigating her new life as well. She's back at school, when what she really wants is to train as a priestess, just like Selena. Surely Clover can't be the only one suited to learning magic?
Rue, Clover, Tara, Damien, and Dandy are all discovering that life with Selena means embracing a deeper way of living altogether.
I was introduced to the Wild Grove family in the original series and enjoyed the stories but felt they were a little disjointed. This series telling the story of Selena has flowed much better and grabbed my interest from the start. By the end of this book I have become a huge fan and am really looking forward to the story continuing. The imagery was well done and the rag tag cast of characters will draw you in.
Awesome book, but then Katherine Genet's books always are. As a practicing Druid myself I enjoy her subtle references to both the druid and wiccan practices. This is a novel that also gives practical and excellent advice on living in the real world. This book isn't just a story, it can be a manual for living - if you pay close attention. Can't wait for the next one.
Amazing book! I love all her books as they offer both magic and reality weaved together. There are difficult choices to be made sometimes but life is demanding for all of us. As a Pagan myself I appreciate deeply the way she writes, the beautiful and moving story along with real practical advice that can help all, no matter their spiritual path, to live in a more balanced and connected way.
Katherine is an amazing story teller. As soon as you start to read you’re drawn into the Wildwood grove and everyone in it. Selena and her new “family” are amazing, I’ll be waiting on pins and needles until the next book comes out.
