Cherry Tree Island by Daisy Landish is a heartwarming romance between two forty-somethings who end up living on the same island when each thought they would be alone! They both agree to make the best of it. Jake, the owner of the island who was left stranded at the altar, will stay at one end of the island in the caretaker’s cabin. Abby is a recent empty nester looking for a place to decide who she wants to be, will stay in the main house that she has rented for two weeks. Through spending some time getting to know one another, and a rather large monkey wrench thrown at Jake, they both discover their true selves and move toward who they want to be. Total HEA. I hope Ms. Landish will write more books like this. I promise I will read them.
Despite a few significant language bombs, this is a clean romance and the story is so good, I persevered.
I received a free copy of this book with the agreement that I would write an honest review.
I really enjoyed this book. I'm not usually into feel good romances but this had enough twisty turns to keep it interesting. I liked that this was kind of a second chance for Abby in the romance department. The setting of an island is a great part of the story, I just wished it had been a more detailed description.
I was kind of wishy-washy on Jake at first. The situation with his fiancee (I'm trying to be careful and not give any spoilers) and him jumping back and forth to her kind of aggravated me but he came out of that, obviously.
The only thing that I would have truly changed would be the baby issue, I didn't like that it was kind of just forgotten and not brought up again. Otherwise, it was a normal HEA.
This is such a sweet romance on a peaceful island. Every gals dream. The characters are mostly MMC and FMC with some other thrown in. The MMC and FMC are written well and just have a flow to them. The worldbuilding is an island and I think you can't go wrong on an island owned by one person. You can feel the chemistry but feels is all you get, well maybe a kiss or two. An all around nice read for a few hours. I listened to this on audiobook.
Great love story with a more mature couple. Abby and Jake make a wonderful journey from friendship to falling in love. Of course there has to be some obstacles but they are dealt with. I really enjoyed reading this. Cherry Tree Island seems like an ideal place I would like to visit. I received a free copy of this book and this is my voluntary, honest review.
Cherry Tree Island has a lot to offer and a lot of intrigue. I enjoyed these two stories in this book and couldn't put the book down. What an awesome read, following Abby on her journey after her twin kids move off and do their own things. A great tale of ending one life in the family home and embarking on another to follow her dreams with unexpected pleasures along the journey.
Loved this sweet story of two people - Jake a successful business man who wants more than anything to find someone special to have a family with, and Abby who is an empty nester set on starting out in a new direction. When circumstances throw them together on Cherry Tree Island, each discover an attraction to the other that neither one of them expected. Very sweet story.
Cherry Tree Island, my fourth enjoyable read from author Daisy Landish. Much more romancy than my previous 3 reads by her I found it the least enjoyable of the 4 reads by the author. “I received a free Kindle copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review." The gifting of this book did not affect my opinion of it. (RIP Marley January 20, 2014 - July 24, 2018.

A sweet novel filled with self discovery. An island, time off of work, and a potential buyer, a broken engagement, family, and friends combine to create a a perfect setting! I received a copy from StoryOrigin.
Selling your house, kids off to college. Time for yourself, perhaps it’ll include some romance. That’s the way to live your life. Fantastic story that will please everyone.
Wonderful heartwarming cozy romance! Abby is saying goodbye to her to old life, her twins going off to college and her selling their family home. Jake has had his heart broken, being left at the altar on his wedding day. They come together unexpectedly on Cherry Tree Island. I found both characters well written, the island setting charming, even if a bit unbelievable in real life, and the story engrossing. Enjoy!
