A Brutal Clash and A Bitter Rival
A fallen realm must rise again.
The dark is but a shadow of its former glory. Corruption, propaganda, and terror have flooded the underworld, poisoning morale and diluting the popular will. The once-powerful demon lords have fled and the former king's few remaining supporters are vilified and hunted by roving gangs. The demonic forces that now wield power in the black halls have grown fat on plunder, and they'll not give it up easily.
In order to prevail, Max and Arinna must rally new and old allies into an army. They will wage war to restore the throne and reclaim the soul of the dark. Drastic measures will most definitely be necessary and they'd better accomplish them quickly before Max's final moments bleed away.

I'm currently writing the Bone knight litRPG series. It's fun to revisit the game worlds I enjoyed when I was young. I grew up with Final Fantasy, Mechwarrior, Dragon warrior (known to many as Dungeon Quest), and X-COM. These games, along with a whole lot of movies and books, have informed what I think is cool: Impossible odds and grave decisions with monumental stakes.
Bone knight book nine, the finale for the series, is currently underway. After that is complete, I have a new litRPG series already planned that should come out in time for Christmas 2022.
Also: Audiobooks are on the way and a Boneknight RPG game is currently in development.

We are in the underworld this time with vampires and familiar faces. The series is coming to a close and I can already tell it is going to be a big finish. I like that all our main characters are together as a team in this one. Max, Arinna, Raeg and Trina are all working towards a common goal and using their individual skill sets to make it happen. Sure they split up from time to time, but I love that they are all “party.”
Max has really turned into a strong leader that makes mature decisions for the group and considers what is best for everyone. I am really impressed with how he is handling his feelings for Arinna while simultaneously getting her back on her throne. It is rare where you see a character determine there are more important things than them. He still remains my number one character due to his snark.
My favorite quotes of Max in this book:
“I’m new….and stupid.”
“They can have, I don’t know, little bat children or something.”
“Yeah yeah, let’s all make fun of the skeleton guy who can never be with anyone.”
Another fan favorite is Raeg. He is such a simple (sometimes dumb) character. Basically he wants to eat and fight, nothing else really matters. He is however totally kick butt and extremely loyal to Max, making him a great sidekick. Another shout out for the evil, dog like henchmen that is Scruff. Oh he is so evil and sweet. I love him!
This book has a lot of secret family reveals, and not just with Max’s dad. You get surprise children, wives, sisters, fathers, etc. It seems like everyone has a surprise family member that we as the audience weren’t planning on. I am very curious on how Paulson is going to wrap this all up with so many people roaming around. He left us in a chaotic place, as is his way, but I am very excited to see what happens next.

I love this series and can't wait for more. I recommend this series for everyone. If you love great characters and awesome adventure then read these books I guarantee you won't regret it.
