Carli Valentine- Children's Book Author, Illustrator has always been passionate about writing and storytelling. Her goal as mother and an author, is to spread the magic of books to children so they can join in her obsession of reading. She loves to create fun stories by gathering inspiration from her kids. A wonderful story which will teach children about the value of perseverance, especially when confronted with difficult moments or challenges. The main character – Fluff Bum – is a delightful little bunny, who has the biggest dream in the world, becoming the Official Easter Bunny. My daughter absolutely loved this story, especially since her new favorite toy is actually a plush bunny. With beautiful illustrations done by the author herself and helpful tips on how to help your little ones fight bad habits, this book represents the perfect choice for Easter!

My opinion:

As the mother of a six-year-old, I am always on the lookout for books that hold a wonderful story inside, preferably one which also has valuable lessons to offer. When I came across this particular book, I was so excited! A bunny who dreams of becoming the Official Easter Bunny? A prefer for Easter egg chocolates? Count me in! I read this story to my little bookworm, and she absolutely loved it. What a great idea to have a bunny that actually has a bad habit, nibbling on the children’s Easter egg chocolates. Now, if you want to learn how he overcame this habit, you will have to read the book to find out!

All I can say is that I found the story to be absolutely delightful and just perfect for the Easter season. I think our little ones need story like this one, as they are facing a lot of challenges as little humans and might often be tempted to give up on their dreams. I see my daughter needing guidance in this area and we often resort to books in order to gain a bit more confidence. I applaud the author for managing to take a serious topic and wrap it in a delightful story, accompanied by wonderful illustrations. In the end, as parents, we want our kids to feel empowered and work towards achieving everything they want for themselves.

The temptation of tasting all the chocolate is something I think all kids will relate to, adults too! I loved that the bunny relies on the advice of his grandfather, this is a subtle way to highlight the importance of family, of children being raised by a village and not just the parents. The character Fluffy Bum is just delightful, and what a cute name, perfect for this lovely story. As for the bad habits, we must remember that no one is perfect, so we need to guide our kids in the right direction. With stories like this one, we can help them discover the value of practical goals, learning a thing or two ourselves.

Verdict:

If you are looking for a last-minute Easter gift, you have found it! This book is amazing, with so many wonderful lessons to be learned. We loved following Fluffy Bum in his adventures, enjoying the beautiful illustrations. I would be as bold as to say that this story appeals to both children and adults, as we all deal with bad habits, but we have a way to overcome them, as the author clearly points out. All in all, it was a fun book to read, and we definitely fell in love with the bunny. Spoiler alert, after reading this book, you might crave some chocolate yourself. Preferably an Easter chocolate egg!

Bad Habit Rabbit, written and illustrated by Carli Valentine, follows little bunny Fluffy Bum in his quest to become an official Easter bunny. The problem is…he has a bad habit of nibbling on the children’s Easter egg chocolates! In order to reach his goal, he must overcome his bad habit.

When Fluffy Bum visits his great-great-grandbunny, Floppy Ears VI (the most famous Easter bunny), he learns how his grandbunny overcame his own struggle of constantly tripping over his floppy ears. He helps Fluffy Bum to identify his triggers and make a plan to overcome them.

At the end of the book, readers find a guide with tips for combating a bad habit with lots of thought-provoking questions and practical suggestions.

My seven-year-old daughter enjoyed the story and, of course, laughed every time I read “Fluffy Bum.” She surprised me by spending a lot more time on the back page than I expected, studying each of the tips for combating a bad habit.

First, she was sure to inform me I should use the tips to curb my coffee, soda, and cheese habits, haha, and suggest some good habits with which I could replace them. Then she took some time to reflect on her own bad habits and make a plan all on her own to eat more vegetables every day!

I enjoyed that this book introduced several different methods for combating a bad habit, all explained within the context of a bunny in Easter bunny training. It took what would otherwise be a serious topic and made it more relatable and fun.

It also offered a very magical and imaginative peek into “Easter bunny training,” explaining how bunnies are selected for the program and mentioning classes like “Hop Away and Hide” and “Egg Hiding 101.” I appreciated that the bad habit in question was eating too many chocolates since it’s a common and relatable topic for children.

Overall, Bad Habit Rabbit is a fun and thought-provoking read that would be a welcome addition to any Easter basket or act as an imaginative conversation-starter year-round.

Bad Habit Rabbit by Carli Valentine is fantastic! I adore the cute bunny with its adorable glasses and even more adorable name, Fluffy Bum. We learn all about how the Easter bunny got its title and all the training and hard work Easter bunnies-in-training go through at the Easter Bunny Academy before getting their official title. However, Fluffy Bum had developed a bit of a problem, sneaking chocolate eggs and eating them instead of putting them in the baskets for the children. Oh no! Fluffy Bum needs to break this habit in order to become an official Easter Bunny. Can Fluffy Bum do it? Read this super adorable book to find out and learn more tips about how to combat bad habits.
I just loved this book so much and the way it teaches a lesson in a non-preachy and very practical way. Readers of all ages will enjoy this wonderful book. It's full of colourful and adorable illustrations. The perfect book to add to any Easter basket. 🧺

A Beautiful Easter Bunny Tale!

What a beautiful book this is!

The bright and beautifully illustrated front cover had grabbed my attention from the start and the rest of the book didn’t disappoint either.

This is tale about a Rabbit’s quest to be accepted as an Easter Bunny- but the story presents much more than this. There are opportunities to talk to children about resisting temptation, making healthy choices, self-acceptance , being unique and a beautiful example of a loving relationship with a grandfather too.
The beautiful artwork complements this gentle and special story so well too.

A highly recommended children’s story- not just for Easter time too!

What a great story!

I liked the originality and creativity behind this book. It is my first time to read a story about Easter Bunny and I truly loved everything about it. Sometimes my kids wonder who is Easter Bunny and why the bunny is so kind to them, and I think that this book gives all those answers. Also, it provides answers as to why some eggs have toys, stickers and bracelets instead of chocolates. Lastly, I liked how the story teaches how to overcome a bad habit, how to make a plan and follow steps if you want to be successful at something.I highly recommend this book!

Great Easter Story!

I love all the books I read from this author! This book is about Fluffy Bum and his bad habit. He wants to become an official Easter bunny, but must stop being tempted by the chocolates. With his great-great-grand-bunny’s help, he was able to come up with a plan. This book teaches that none of us are perfect! It also shows that we can always improve if we work hard. I like the new tradition in this book, similar to cookies for Santa at Christmas: leaving out a carrot for the Easter bunny. This is a great book to read around Easter time.

This story is absolutely EGG-CELLENT! A cute little bunny named, Fluffy Bum, is in training to become THE EASTER BUNNY. Fluffy Bum, takes readers down a rabbit hole as he figures out how to avoid his temptation of eating chocolates out of the eggs before successfully delivery them on Easter Sunday. Read how Fluffy Bum figures out how to replace his bad habits with good habits. Children’s imaginations will be ignited by the colorful illustrations. There is even a helpful tip page on how to beat a bad habit at the end of this “hoppy” read. Great Easter read for the whole family.

This adorable Easter story follows a young bunny trying to make his way through Easter Bunny Academy! He struggles with the temptation of tasting all of the chocolate for the Easter eggs and goes to his grandfather bunny for advice on how to overcome this problem so he can graduate.

I truly loved this story as it addresses a subject close to my heart: addiction to chocolate. It was fun and educative to see how the little rabbit battled his addiction and found a way to create a good habit to replace the old one. It's very helpful for kids to navigate through habits that aren't beneficial for them. It's a great lesson and story filled with amazing illustrations and great messages.

Fluffy Bunnies

This is a story of how a bunny rabbit was special in his own way. He had a fluffy bum of which made him stand out from the rest. Also, it was his job to stuff baskets during Easter. There was a problem, he craved chocolate so much, all the Easter baskets had half-eaten chocolates in them. The bunny received some much needed advice in the matter!

👌👌

My children love these little books. They thoroughly enjoy each and every story, as if they are all unique and individual without any cause for similarity among them. Even though sometimes, they might seem tedious and repetitive to me as a parent, I do enjoy being able to read short-stories to my children that are clean and respective.

Bad Habit Rabbit is a picture book about Little bunny Fluffy Bum, who wants to be an Official Easter Bunny.

The illustrations are colourful and adorable, and the message is positive and encouraging. However, the story is also repetitive and simplistic, and the rhymes are sometimes forced and awkward. The book is suitable for young children who love bunnies and Easter eggs but might not appeal to older or more sophisticated readers.

It's a sweet and fun book, but not one that stands out among other picture books.
