THE CAPTIVATING FIFTH NOVEL IN THE PLAINSMAN WESTERN SERIES FROM BEST-SELLING AUTHOR B.N. RUNDELL.
The gold rush of 1859 in the Colorado Rockies brought more than just gold seekers. Outlaws, conmen, crooks, and thieves quickly populated the central Rockies, and it was from that element that Reuben and Elly Mae Grundy fled. They had done their part, serving as deputy marshals, but now they wanted time alone and together.
Choosing a site far south and away from the gold rush, they built a cabin for their first home. But they soon discovered their neighbors were Mouache Ute and Jicarilla Apache. When the Comanche launched a raid on their long-time enemies and captured many of their women, they also took Elly and her friends. Now it’s up to Reuben to go against a war party of almost a hundred proven warriors to rescue his bride.
Add in greedy Comancheros, rebellious soldiers, and bad weather, and Reuben’s got his hands full with a challenge he never expected to be thrown into. Fortunately, he’s not the kind of man that ever backs down from a challenge.

What did I like? Bob’s books are such a pleasure to read. I know that he has expertly researched everything down to the smallest detail. He softly feathers his beliefs across the pages and gives the characters his master touch for our pleasure.
What will you like? The details will whet your appetite for action and fighting. The characters are set for the battles that will rage across the pages, with no time to give your heart a break from the danger that Reuben and Elly face. Don’t miss this exciting and wonderfully written account of the world of the wild west. The next chapter in the Plainsmen Western series by BN Rundell, “The Trail to Reparation,” is available NOW!!!
These books by B. N. Rundell are adventurous but also shows how there was a Christian lifestyle lived out in the lives of some of the early settlers. It also shows that there were some who lived ungodly lives, which is still true to this day! As GOD’s HOLY SCRIPTURE reveals, there’s only two kinds of people in our world…those that are of our LORD JESUS CHRIST and those who follow satan.
Very good storyline, well written but a little too much preaching even for me. I understand why the author does it, after all he was a preacher himself, but out of the the books in this series, I really think he over did this one. It was as if he wanted a certain amount of words and filled them in with the Bible. Not sure if I will finish the rest of this series.
Some stories are hard to read, the characters difficult to empathize with and the narrative doesn't flow. I'm no expert editor but I like this story even if it's a big far fetched, but what fella wouldn't want his partner to share his adventures. If this series is going farther then we will have to see if children will complicate their story line.
Great storyline of hardship and rescue. Love the way the writer weaves the characters together and proceeds on. Love the way he brings Acceptance and forgiveness and Gods word and creation into the story. Can not wait till the next book and continue story
I really enjoyed this Book, in fact the whole series and am looking forward to Book 6... I like the strong Characters, and to me the Author is very descriptive of the Scenery and surrounds in his writing, one can almost feel, hear and see the colours and the Mountains... Thank You
A great new chapter in a continuing story about a couple in the wilds of the Rocky Mountains. Interesting perspective on Native wars and attitudes of the US Army towards Natives in the West during the Civil War.
Enjoyed this book as well as the last. Continue to keep your interest page after page. Good story and characters in this one.Continues to keep my interest And I enjoy his style of writing.
Book 5 finds Reuben and Elly finding a place to build their cabin. When Elly and others are taken in a raid by Comanche. Reuben hits their trail to take them back. Good series.
