I found this a good updating of the most recent findings in learning and behavior. I particularly liked the stuff on biological preparedness, although I thought the chapters could have been more clearly labeled. I would have liked to see something about topics such as short and long term memory, Long term potentiation as a biological theory of memory formation, and theories of forgetting. The book had almost nothing on those topics, which means I'll have to bring in material from some other text for those topics in my learning class. I thought the frequent insertion of quizzes in the text would be good for students but the answers should be at the end of the chapters rather than at the end of the book itself.

More of a 3.75 star book for me. It nicely explains a lot of the concepts fairly simple. It is a little dense at certain points which made it harder to read. It might also be because most psychology classes talk about the concepts and theories more and more. Some of the newer ones were dense because maybe that’s just it—they are new concepts. Have lots of teaching help that will benefit me in the coming years to use.

Had to read this book for a class on learning and behavior. Interesting book, I learned tons, supplemented the course well.
