Not a great read, but it’s a fast read. Seems mostly written for the supporting person, rather than the one who has cancer. Choppy at times with too many sidebars (much like this sentence). Useful overall.
It was honest, and it was well-written (she's a poet after all), but I was left wanting more. More detail, more depth, more from other couples. Yes, you need to join a support group, without a doubt.
This book has a lot of good information in it. Wish I would have read it sooner. I do wish that it had more scientific details on each type of treatment and the recurrence rate for each. But this should be required reading after a diagnosis and before treatment starts.
