About the author

Robert L. Millet, professor of ancient scripture and former dean of Religious Education at Brigham Young University, holds a master s degree in psychology from BYU and a Ph.D. in religious studies from Florida State University. He is a popular speaker and prolific writer whose other books include Lost and Found: Reflections on the Prodigal Son; Grace Works; and More Holiness Give Me. He and his wife, Shauna, have six children and live in Provo, Utah.

Strong, meaningful well thought out message, it was a bit repetitive

WOW! What a great book by a great author, man and researcher of religion. Having served in a portion of the Bible-Belt as a missionary it was pretty common to hear people say "Works alone save" or "Simply believing in Jesus saves" or even "Mormons do not believe in Jesus or His sacrifice for they believe in works only". This is a hard topic for anyone, Mormon and non-Mormon: What do the scriptures, Nay, what does the Lord say by His voice or by the voice of His servants about salvation and grace?

Millet does a wonderful job at citing jusy about anything and everything, in what we Mormons called the Standard Works (Bible, Book of Mormon, Doctrine and Covenants and the Pear of Great Price) along with the words and teachings of those who are both Mormons and non-Mormons, all things that pertain to faith, works, salvation, grace, patience, love and so on.

He rightly concludes, and what great learning opportunity for me, that we are saved by the grace of God through His Son Christ and Christ's atonement, while keeping in mind for us that we are still commanded to keep the commandments, live righteously and endure to the end for we must prove we want, we accept and we apply, the free gift of grace given to us, for those who show their faith by their works and acknowledge humbly that though they keep commandments and such, they cannot do it alone and call on God and as God sees their faith with works, He applies the gift of grace that a) gives immortality to all and b) give eternal life to those made immortal that wanted, accepted and applied the atonement (hope that makes sense and does Millet justice, if not, read for yourself and now the truth and light of he doctrine).

Should be read by all and applied by all!

If you are a Latter Day Saint or wonder if Mormons believe in being saved by grace the answer is YES. This book goes into the topic of grace and works. It is an older book but I found many of the chapters interesting. For the first time I realized I am less than dust of the earth since the dust always obey God and I sin daily. But full of hope and thankful for Christ God and Grace.

I learned about the Grace of Christ for the first time, what it really is. This book is out of print. But there is a new one just out also by Millet called After All We Can Do GRACE SAVES. I haven't read it yet, but am looking forward to it. Good books

This book really helped me get a better grasp on the doctrine of Grace and the Atonement. I really appreciated it!
