A land unforgiving, painted will all the beautiful and terrible shades of humanity. A young girl silenced, finding her way after the loss of her only two friends. A voice older than the trees, following every step of the way.
A dark tale for the contemporary reader, empty trees conjures echoes of grief, isolation, and spiteful endurance.
...will she be the wolf? ...or will she be the prey?
This book is very intriguing from the beginning until the end. Despite the book starting off full force, it had a good pace to it that kept me on my toes. The writing style is as of nothing I have read before, which kept me engaged. It took a bit getting used to, but soon acknowledged the purpose behind it.
The few aspects I wish we had was a drawing of the area she walked so I can get my bearings straight as well as some clarification on some different high points of the story. I refuse to put spoilers in this review, but I am sure you may understand as you read. The author purposely wrote every word on the page, so I gather questions are supposed to be a part of the take away.
