Jada Lindsay is a single woman living and working as an ER nurse in her hometown of Philadelphia when she meets who she thinks is her Prince Charming one hot summer day. She quickly realizes that fairy tales are for kids. The story begins with Jada’s tumultuous relationship with Aidan Peacock, the son of a preacher. She tells her story of sex, lies and love in her own gripping words which are often flip and straight from the hip. Jada speaks of the love for her grandmother to the contempt that she harbors for her mother. When her relationship with Aidan is ended in front of the entire congregation of Shiloh Christian Church at a New Year’s Eve service Jada vows to never see him again. But the heart goes where it wants to, and she finds out the hard way… ~You Reap What You Sow~
Another Philly native has made me proud to call Philly home! In this book ER nurse Jada is shall we say "going through some changes" in her life. She is a single, love to mingle kind of chick who keeps her mind on her money and her money on her mind. One hot day she meets a man that is too good to be true. You know how that saying goes and the story takes off from there. We meet Jada's grandmom, her mom, best friend, new lover, his family, etc. Very well written book that keeps you engaged throughout. Jada eventually moves back in with her grandmother and a new chapter/ old life resumes type of situation evolves. I have to admit that I just didn't see the twist at the end coming so that pleases me to no end. Cause if I can figure out the ending, the author hasn't done their job in my opinion. Anywho, there absolutely, positively, beyond a shadow of a doubt MUST be a sequal to this book and I can only hope Felicia Goodwin already has it written!
This book was about a young lady by the name of Jada Lindsay. She was a single woman who lived in Philadelphia. Jada also worked in Philadelphia as an ER nurse. On an ordinary hot summer day she meets, Aiden Peacock, the perfect guy. Jada think Aiden is what she calls, " her Prince Charming". Why wouldn't he be the perfect man, he was handsome, attended church regularly and was the son of a preacher. On the other hand you have Jada who was all about lies and sex, yet she knew about love. I think Jada realizes that everything is not what is seems to be with Aiden. This was a crazy relationship with ups and downs. Jada also speaks of the love for her grandmother, which was her mother and friend, and she also speaks of the disrespect that she has towards her mother. Finally, in front of the entire congregation of Shiloh Christian Church, Aidan breaks up with Jada. She vows never to see him again but because she continues to think that the relationship will work itself out she follows her heart and finds out that she will reap what she sows. Her prince charming Aiden end up being her brother and Aiden's father, the preacher, is the man who raped her mother. which was how she was conceived
I started to read this book not knowing that it would get so intense. The main character Jada tried everything in her power to push herself onto Aiden and Aiden was no saint. Aiden played it off as if he was the perfect husband and man but slowly i found out the lies and dirt he did His relationship with Jada and made it seem as if Jada was the bad one,but i found out she wasnt but she was alittle easy at least this is how he belittled her in front of the church. I would recommend this book to people who are going through a rough relationship and people who are into books with real life events with shocking twist. It kept my attention and it opens your eyes to the fact that everything is not what it seems to be and you should watch your action because it will all come back to you.Like the title YOU REAP WHAT YOU SOW..
