Global Game: AFK In The Zombie Apocalypse Game

Rate this book
Fang Heng was transmigrated to a parallel world and his soul was forced into the body of a man who had just committed suicide.
Huh? What? Every human here was being forced to join a game? Those who refused would be killed?
Wait? This suicide dude was a pro gamer?
He had the highest S-rank talent sill, the Zombie Clone?
Damn! The S-rank skill evolved! My zombie clones could auto hunt!
[Your zombie army has crafted Wooden Axe x720 when you were offline. You have received 1921 experience points for the Basic Crafting skill.]
[Your zombie army has chopped down 27,821 trees and gathered 128,973 pieces of wood while you were offline. You have received 2,171,921 experience points for the Basic Wood Chopping skill.]
Just as the rest of the players were struggling to survive in the zombie apocalyptic game, Fang Heng's zombie clones were starting to clear every resource out of the forest.
Hm... What an interesting game!

TL:DR It's fine if your brain dead but the moment you notice the multitude of inconstancies everything falls apart.

So standard soul jump, check. Has access to former occupants memories (say 60-70%). In cases like that you remember what you did daily the best. In this case the previous occupant was a pro gamer at the high end of excellence. Who then keeps reacting to situations rather than proper planning and doesn't play like a pro player, but more of that in a minute.

So he is broke and indebt because got banned with rigged matches. How does this equate to poverty? Even if big names won't hire you there are plenty of 'shady places' that wouldn't care. You could do whatever you wanted as long as you were good at your job. Even if you didn't want to do that, you have a free resource generator in game. The book states that you could sell in-game items for real world cash. (Which is mentioned as viable later on.)

Also this game is mandatory and can teleport people into it for real. So when this game started it was just accepted? "Little Timmy lost all three lives and we no longer have a body to bury." Yeah I'm sure the government would be able to ignore the out rage of a nation... (Oh wait China, my bad.) Also is there even an age limiter? Would be kinda of important unless you REALLY wanted population control I guess.

Now it also presented some stats which honestly don't really matter. They're placed in arbitrarily and are only vaguely referenced after chapter 50. The only thing that actually matters is hp and defence and again we don't know the numbers. Any situation is presented with a vague someone's stat is higher. Why would this bother anyone? It bother's anyone who recognises between a hard vs soft magic system. Don't present a hard system when it is a soft system. It's fucking annoying.

Everyone starts off with a backpack and a radio (fine) but the radio is one use per 30 minutes (cooldown). They break this rule 8 chapters later (granted at least in this instance they give a vague semblance of a secondary rule.)

If the government gives shelter for free in game, why would anyone go to a guild or company that cost money? (Admittedly I'd imagine they would expect manual labour as compensation but the fact that it doesn't clarify makes the whole point weird.)

Anyway lets go back to the fuck ups as a gamer:
* He has memories as a pro in this genre (2 years) so why did he not advertise for the npc merchant after he got two points rather than wasting a day? (Potentially moving further away on foot.) Rather than dropping a 20 (the next day) and getting noticed for all the wrong reasons?

* So the shelter he finds through the radio (Which by the way if it can give nearest shelter for a price, why not have a higher cost for the merchant?) It just 'happens' to have three out of four people that have talents for both early and mid game scenarios that just happen to be together. Fuck at least put some thought into it! Why not have them all as employees of CEO man? Would of been slightly more believable.

*Also why reveal your skill!?! You could of set them up to just grind zombies and collect crystals. Keep one out of sight to call for help. What would of happened if they were bad people? You'd be dead. Cause you're stupid. Remember meant to be pro!

*OH next chap tries to get hired (Which by the way remember no one wanted to hire him said so in chapter 1. I am aware that since a new server opened up people are willing to 'overlook' things, for the sake of expediency.) and NOONE did a background check except the Karen!?! Really!?! This is the same place that has a social credit system.

* So now he is about to lose the job before he starts and is saved due to seeing ceo guy from the game last night. Seriously I understand a coincidence but multiples in a row? Either your about to be punked or the author is being a talentless hack.

*Another thing. No mmorpg game offers a reward for 1st place that can't be obtained by others. If anyone tried that do you know how fast you would lose your player base? A temp reward like 'double xp for 1st dungeon run through' or ' best drops for first run through' those are fine. Because anyone else can obtain it through effort or grinding.

*So MC walks into npc merchant doesn't try to be inconspicuous, takes the hardest mission and walks away. Don't get me wrong do the mission but at least try to be subtle so you don't get stalked or worse. (Which does happen regardless due to lack of subtilty.)

* When his army is grinding why is MC being useless? He is meant to be a pro player! He should be planning, networking, practicing or even sleeping in some cases... (when safe to do so.) Time, especially at the start can't afford to be wasted. Which is exactly what he does.

* Why didn't he think of making a one man shelter like a palanquin to travel? Admittedly he would have to grind the skill to basic but if you need to travel solo...

* Chapter 12 so many math errors...

* Chapter 14 incorrect time frame used for time left until shelter expires...

* Chapter 14 only just notices that summons provide skill xp... Again your meant to be pro.

* Says he can't give commands unless within eye sight. Now gives commands from 4.5 miles away (average distance based on time. 90 minutes...) When he raids Merc Snake base.

* Chapter 24 how did Stalker guy & Toady afford the price of staying at the merchants? (AT least 5k in points, yes god points are mentioned later but they are also stated to be in tight supply. Specifically government and only top guilds [not a third rate guild])

* Chapter 27 how does he not know stuff like weapons when he was meant to be a high ranking champion?

I could go on but if you don't get my point by now, then there is no point in continuing...

Starts off with with a low IQ cast and cheap 'comedy' but eventually becomes a really good serious novel. I assume the author realized that assuming that the audience is an idiot was a bad idea. The plot and story actually develops depth and interesting qualities.
