This is a book version of clickbait. I grabbed it off the library shelf in hopes of reading about Tsoi, and got a load of Aizenshpis's self-adoring memoir. I was beyond upset that i had to get through 234 pages before the chapter on Tsoi. 234 PAGES! This book is a shameless self promotion by Aizenshpis of Aizenshpis. The book has almost nothing to do with its titular character, the iconic rocker and an unforgettable young man who died too young. Aizenshpis is not a writer, he speaks with the style of a person who did time and never got over it. There was no editor's touch, this much is clear from how many edits this book could have benefited from. The book is a nasty, bitter disappointment, it's a marketing ply by the author to revive the public's memory of him at the expense of a loved rock icon who deserved better than this crappy book.
