while the illustrations were mostly well done, for some reason this book refused to define the term "transgender", something I consider strange, considering it's a biography of a prominent trans activist. Also, no one fact checked the illustrations. The 7 and Q train do not stop at West 4, Washington Sq. That is the ACE/BDFV trains.... (now the M train).

Easy, child-friendly introduction to Rivera's work.

Since the story mentions STAR, it seems like that should be on the timeline, but maybe the process was too gradual. I had not realized how young Rivera was when she met Johnson.

Also, I feel like the Stonewall illustration is showing the wrong demographic.
