What an amazing story. It was fast paced, exciting, suspenseful, action, fear, violence, joy, hope, passion and love. Billie is on the run with her son Joey. They are on their way to a safe house with four wolf shifters. Cody and Billie already had history together as Joey is Cody's. He is the most intense of the men. Phoenix is a wiz with Joey they loved playing with Legos and math together. Jasper was the quiet and reserved. Grant was the peacemaker and one with the most incite. They revolved around Billie's love and the love of Joey. They were a unit and a family. Enjoyed the story and the happy ending. Highly recommend. First book I've read by this author.

Red Eye was needed again. A different situation.
Billie was in the military and was on a mission that was coming back to bite all the people from that group. Billie needed help! A online leak detailed everyone's names and addresses. Good people were dying and horribly too. Billie was on the run, with her 6 yr old son too. Luckily, Stark, from an agency, knew this. He put together a group of wolf shifters to look after her. Billie knew one of them from her past.
I would've liked to have Billie be more emotionally strong. For someone that was trained for this, she freaked out a lot.
Billie was in the military and was on a mission that was coming back to bite all the people from that group. Billie needed help! A online leak detailed everyone's names and addresses. This story pulled me in and didn't want to let go until the end. Billie was in the military and was on a specific assignment. Years after she got out her former teammates were getting killed and she is the next target. She takes off with her son to try to find some where safe. She ends up with a group of guys pulled together by a good friend to protect her. They are shifters and understand harems, but is that what's good for her? Time will tell.

This book was an okay read I have read better. I felt like the main character who supposed to be this strong female military women who was a navy seal came off extremely weak. One I have never heard of a female navy seal, so it made the story hard to believe to begin with. It took me some time to get through this book as I kept putting it down. It really did not keep my interest.
This was the first book that I have read by this author and I not sure I am willing to give her another read. Her writing style of this book just really made it hard for me to read and enjoy.

Not wolfish
A 3+ book, new author for me, standalone. Billy is an ex military mom on the run with her six year old son. Both well written characters. The story was okay due to making these wolf shifters only decent shifters basically Cody sucks as a wolf, not fierce, totally beta,couldn’t tell what his pack mates howls meant. Don’t get me started on his stressful reactions weren’t ex military. I liked Jasper, Grant, Phoenix.

not realistic
There aren’t female Navy Seals and if that was actually her background, I highly doubt she would have reacted the way she did in a lot of the scenes. I get RHs aren’t real things either, but it was just too unrealistic for me.

Possible Spoilers Below - Fair Warning ⚠️
It's expected that there will be a lack of things - whether it's the plot, spice, character development, etc. - in novellas. So, I had this expectation going in. If you want all of these things in a more complete way, novellas most likely aren't your best bet.
With this said, I love the tropes: secret baby and second chance, and I had looked forward to reading this. It was good in both aspects. Although I do wish Billie had confessed earlier in the book than near the end, so we could have seen more between Joey and Cody.
The novella revolves around a single mother and her six-year-old son, who are on the run from bad guys because a bounty has been placed on both of them due to leaked information. Being forced into a safe house with four wolf shifters and one happens to be her baby daddy she dipped out on six years ago.
Even knowing this is a novella, there is literally no description of what they look like - I take note of these things because I'm Forgetful Betty and want to remember who is who. The only features I was able to take note of were Billie having golden eyes and caramel-colored skin with freckles, and Grant having a long ponytail. Other than that, we don't know their hair or eye colors, or anything else but their names and professions lol.
Now for the spice, there's one full sex spice scene on page with Cody, and the rest are third base or glossed over and not in action/on page. Rating it a 2 in spice honestly seems too high but for a novella I'll leave it there. 😅
I do appreciate that the shifters actually shifted. Sometimes in novellas, or even full-length novels, the shifters don't shift. So, I do appreciate that there were a few times this took place on page. 🖤

Excitement from start to finish.
What a fantastic story. The characters were fantastic, strong and energetic and ready to fight the war that had been brought down on Billie and her son Joey. Cody was her secret boyfriend when they were in the military together. When Billie found out she was pregnant she took off and kept Joey a secret from her lover.
Six years later they are together again but in a dangerous situation where Billie and Joey are at risk. Cody is part of the RedEye team of wolf shifters, who are hired to protect Billie and her son Joey. Grant, Phoenix and Jasper are all in love with Billie and want to share a harem with Billie. But the Russians are after Billie and they are all racing to end the war. Eventually things work out and the bad guys are taken out and they all can have their happily ever after.
I am voluntarily leaving my review for this book and this is my honest and fair opinion.

Billie was a Seal six years ago but left to hand her baby. Now she's on the run site tho someone leaking information on a mission she was in. Just as she feels like she's been caught by the enemy she discovers The Red Security team is assigned to keep her safe. As her and her son hide in a safe house she learns her son's biological father is on the team. Now she has no idea how to tell him he had a son. Added to her problem is her draw to the other four men on this mission. Polyamory is a thing for shifters, right?

Chosen by the Pack was a great reverse harem paranormal read. Billie is on the run with her son and is being protected by four wolf shifters. I liked Billie from the start, I liked her personality and her determination to fight for her son. I really enjoyed the sparks flying between Billie and her mates and I loved the unique qualities each mate had to offer. Overall, I really enjoyed this book and I look forward to my next read by this author.

Chosen for the pack.
It was a good story for most part but the ending was way to fast epilog way to fast was left to open. We didn't really get to see any bonding with Cody and their child. And now they have a girl so who is the father. Ik maybe they don't care but it's still nice to know. We didn't even see them settle down either or the proposal it's something the readers would what to be part of to my blackout scenes also something the readers what to see especially with a harem but the story line of protecting was good.

This book was great. It started with a thrilling action sequence that had me at the edge of my seat and ended much the same with the perfect HEA. Combine plenty of steam with all the main characters and a no nonsense heroine and you get this book. A quick and easy read that will have you coming back for more. .

I absolutely loved this book. I was on the edge of my seat throughout waiting to see what was going to happen next. This military style love story was fantastic with elements of second chance but also reverse harem. I was so happy you got to see what happens in the end and I would love to see some of the other characters get their own stories.

A good enough read
This short story is a good enough read, with decent characters and a well thought out storyline, that's easy to follow. Though I think that the suspense and action scenes could have been better. For a reverse harem romance, the steamy scenes were a disappointment. And it does need editing, for a few typos. But it's okay for a time passer read, with a happy for now ending. It reads as a standalone story, with potential at the end to continue on.

Great book!!
Laura Wylde gives us another great standalone rh book! Billie's story with her mates is well written with complex characters and plot twists that keep you turning pages throughout. As they hide out from the people hunting Billie and her young son, sparks fly between her and her mates. I loved reading this book, you don't want to miss out on it!!

1woman 4men nothing else needs to be said
Chosen by a pack of men well that sounds like a fantasy come true. Add in that ex military and wolves as well and I am asking myself were do I sign up? The danger of course add to the page turning and being unable to put the book down until the end.
Would I recommend this book of course it is in my library for another read.

Chosen by the Pack by Laura Wylde is a wonderful reverse harem. It's full of sexy alpha wolves and one kickass human female. The characters are absolutely fantastic. The action is edge of your seat. The sexy scenes are hot.

November 30, 2024DNF, The story sounded good but I just couldn't get past the fact that she was supposed to be a Navy SEAL, I get that this is not real life, but come on, she could have said Army Ranger that's more believable, but that's just me. Like I said the story sounds good, so feel free to let me know if I was to quick to get annoyed.😋

I began the book and couldn’t finish. Good premise, but poorly written in my opinion. Some parts that I made it to (about chapter 5/6) just felt rushed or weird for the characters to talk about it in that way.

It was just bad writing. I pushed through because I rarely DNF anything but I should have with this one. The concept was just poorly executed.

This was a quick and easy book to read and the storyline had all the stuff I like in a shifter book. Billie and her son Joey are on the run after her old CIA past catches up with her and she is targeted for death and now I have 4 very sexy wolf shifters protect us and what makes it harder is that I have a past with one of them and a secret he doesn’t know about. Cody is the guy I left 6 yrs ago but he still owns my heart and now hopefully more this time. Phoenix is super sexy and has bonded well with Joey and that’s a big plus for me to have someone that likes kids. Jasper is very intense with those gorgeous eyes watching my every move and undressing me as well. Grant I have an instant attraction to with our flirty banter that pulls me in. Now what’s a girl to do when 4 guys temp me like no other with there different traits and tenderness towards my son and myself makes it impossible too have just one. Can they protect Billie and Joey and keep them safe and can they be a family all together or not. To get these answers and so mush more are just inside this book.

I was actually really surprised by the action and suspense in this book. However it was well written and thought out. The spice was pretty good and the action just as good even though it doesnt happen until closer to the end of the book. It was a nice happily ever after though.
