Remak writes a gripping narrative and is a wonderful story-teller. His narrative of the events surrounding the assassination remains the standad by which all others must be judged. From a strictly academic standpoint, the book, however, suffers from a lack of access to Serbian archival material, although this does not weaken the book's central thesis or story. For example, on the conspirator's side, there is no mention of Malobabic -- a significant omission. Other that that, it is a good read and I highly recommend it.
