Decent book, but has its issues

Grammar is largely alright, so no complaints there. The plot and pacing are also mostly interesting and well done. However, the author seems to have taken deliberate steps to make the MC and his love interest less interesting. Instead of developing Sava's character, she has been made utterly one-dimensional and devoid of personality. Max seems to have put away any inhibition or morality that he shows in the first two books, becoming apathetic to the plight of millions for seemingly no reason other than "slaughter and power fun". He puts his best friend in mortal danger and manipulates him unashamedly, the same person that he nearly died to protect in the last book, even noting this to himself and metaphorically shrugging. For this reason, this book gets 3 stars.

Book 3

Apocalypse knights has always been a good read and book 3 continues this theme with a similar yet slight difference. It's focus on this story seems to be character development, the storyline is repetitive till the end with slight differences to break up the mundane. That an ending that was both needed and slightly unexpected with a cliff hanger no one will be satisfied with! But will NEED to read book 4 to satisfy their curiosity, well done 😁

A well balanced series

Many fantasy series start well and fairly light, then they become too heavy and about some Great War, rather than the focus on character development that occurred in the first books. DB King has managed to insert the Great War concept, but still have things focus on character development at the same time and also not make it too heavy and dark, although there is a lot of descriptive violence. I look forward to the next book in the series.

Wow

This book really scaled up. Wow. Extreme battles and extreme Leveling. The game is stepped up so to speak. We learned what some of the stakes are and they ate not good.. Fun series and a lot of action. Not for the faint of heart. However the hero is just that a hero. He might act all grim and dark but at the part of it he cares. I look forward to the next book.

Over to soon.

I have really been enjoying this series. The author loves to leave you wanting more. The series is my first exposure to LitRPG and I have to say I like his approach. I can’t wait for the next book to come out.

What a roller-coaster ride

What a roller-coaster ride. Max looks like he's in big trouble this time. He loses some people close to him. But comes through in the end. I can't wait for Book 4 to come out.
